No cross posting, so I will put it here too. Don't know if this is 205, or old news, but I just heard they are going to have a Moto GP race at the new F1 track next year. Tix on sale Oct.16. Going to make this one. I am editing this so folks can get a second look. Go to the last page, I'm offering free stay in Elgin, 20 miles from COTA.
yeah, we saw it. Everybody is staying at your place! Actually hotel rates ought to be lower than for the F1. And spring in Austin is better than autumn...usually.
I don't know what they were for F1 but for MotoGP I saw $300-$700 a night. On a related note, I am looking for one F1 general admission ticket if you know one any.
Under General Admission they show GA1, GA2 and GA3 areas, anybody know where they are? The dont show a difference on the seating map. update: I called COTA and they said there was no difference in the access for the GA areas that they just used the 1,2 and 3 for ticket sale tracking, who knows for sure until you get there.
I ordered mine this morning. Looks like all the grandstands are GA but for a couple on the front straight and I think turn 15.
thanks for checking on that, that's what I was guessing. I just picked GA3 to be different. Got 2 tickets for GA and one for parking.
I didn't see a parking pass did you get it off the web or did you call? And Does anyone know about paddock passes? I definitely want one of those! And any info on good hotel locations for some blues/rock nightlife would be much appreciated! Come to think of it any Austin info for a newbie would be great!
When you are checking out, there is a Continue shopping button that takes you back and you can select parking. If you didn't get it when you bought the tickets then you might have to pay an additional 10 handling fee. Anything near 6th gets you near music, but I suspect those hotels will be very expensive. Best to find a hotel SE, in the general direction of the track and plan on coming into town for the music.
Thanks for the info WoodButcher! Much appreciated! I wonder if they will have paddock passes and they will be available later? Might have to give them another call and ask about that, if I find anything out I will post it up here.
Am buying tickets for MotoGP and Aussie V8 Supercars weekends. Would love to go to the F1 race, but ****, those tickets are expensive. No way I'm paying that much so it can go to The Grand Muppet of F1.
I did get my GA ticket and Motorcycle parking pass a while back too. Anybody got recommendations on the best hotel location/price or other things to consider? I guess staying closer to the track makes sense and then riding to town for the music scene
