That picture was released by Dorna. One could read in that they are part of making that deal happen, which I assume is true with all of the potential NH deals. Dorna will provide incentive.
Luca Marini, Vale's brother, is dreaming big, too. He will supposedly team with Romano Fenati on KTMs in Moto 3 next year. With possible Monster backing and definitely Brand 46 backing.
Nice to see our own Krop on the podium at Silverstone. Very well deserved too. http://twitpic.com/db3gy8 <a href="http://twitpic.com/db3gy8" title=".@Motomatters receives his Silverstone Media Award for Best B... on Twitpic"><img src="http://twitpic.com/show/thumb/db3gy8.jpg" width="150" height="150" alt=".@Motomatters receives his Silverstone Media Award for Best B... on Twitpic"></a>
If you stall, it's likely rider error or a legit bike problem. If the bike has a problem, being able to e-start is likely the least of your worries. On the rider side, part of their job is to not stall like a noob. (Do motogp bikes have anti-stall like f1 cars?) If you crash, half the time you're out anyway, and all of the time you're going to lose significant places, and thus points. Basically, the once-in-a-while ability to e-start in an unplanned situation (part of which is the fractional probability that the e-start results in more championship points otherwise 'thrown away') is outweighed by the all-the-time performance gains realized by less mass. The farther up you place, te more important that becomes--is it worth jeapordizing 3 or 4 or 5 points that you could lose by dropping one position on the track (because of bike performance) for the potential to maybe claw back one or two points in the off chance an otherwise healthy bike stopped running?
Starter 1lb, battery - quite a bit more. O.K. Lithium batteries now, but you still don't want weight up high on one of those bikes. It'd probably be easier and cheaper to have a few of the battery powered rollers they use on the grid scattered around with the marshals. Safer than push starting as well. Pete
Having difficulty with bringing up Speed's website (understatement ) and need "mountain time" start, for sunday's premier class MotoGP race on Speedvision. Please and thanks gentlemen... 996DL
And the plot thickens for a tech dinosaur, I normally just catch the odd race over at a friends. Haven't suscribed to cablevision for two decades... 996DL
5:00am Pacific so I'm guessing thats still 6:00am Mountain. As mentioned, SPEED has been rebranded as FOX Sports 1. May or may not be the same channel on your provider.
Kudos gentlemen, I'll transfer the scheduling / cable coverage ball over to my friend, after all the TV and cablevision setup, is next door at his girlfriend's. Thanks for the rapid responses ! 996DL
Listed here as being shown only on Fox Sports 2 @ 7am CDT. Too bad we do not get Fox Sports 2 on Comcast. Will have to stream it live... MM is the real thing, 1.5 seconds under the track record. Just rechecked the listing, Now I see it on Fox Sports 1 @ 6:30am Sunday
+1 This was enough for me to order the Ipad to HDMI adapter and sign up for MotoGP.com Video Pass. No more Fox Sports 1 for me.
$100 gets the AppleTV puck that I have been suing for more than a year streaming from my iPad to the big plasma. And part way through QP2 the TV posts it's got 3D feed coming in, so I swap to that. Bloody cool streaming 3D. Speed/Fox? I put them on the ignore list.
