Anyone keen for a ride this saturday? some pavement, gravel roads, fire roads and some exploration around kinglake area. start at 9:30am at caltex petrol station of 307 diamond creek rd greensborough near yan yean rd. I am riding a f800gs. Warning: Knobies and offroad boots are essential.
you do realise it is the grand final on saturday? probably the only holy day of obligation for Victorians. make it Sunday and you may get more interest.
On the other hand, it should make it nice and quiet out there I may be up for it, I'll let you know a little closer to the day. Paul.
I am also heading out on saturday on a local jaunt with a mate, and have done so for the last couple of years, quieter than christmas day
how hard or easy will this ride be.. I'm interested, but will be on my Super Tenere with essentially road tyres on - battlewings..
mmm... i dont have a loop set up, i have knobies on my bike, even on dry gravel road tires are scary, i just want to go for a ride and explore whatever road, if someone has a loop i am happy to follow.
There's some nice twisty tarred bits around Arthurs Creek and a long string of hairpins on dirt under the power-pylons up to Kinglake. Then the tarred slide back to St Andrews - or from Kinglake towards Toolangi and Yarra Glen. Getting into the forests might be tgough on road-sih tyres if there's been rain though.
I might be keen for a tour around Kinglake.. No interest in AFL so it'd be a good day for a ride. I wouldn't mind checking out Toolangi again, but it'd have to be dryer than last time, that place in the wet w/ DS tires is miserable.
count me in... think i fit that discription and am in need of a good ride. and i have knobbies and offroad boots... hell i might even wear my power ranger pants and 930 might work well with the hang over
