I have been looking around for a bike to buy and I think I finally found the right one... good price, condition, low miles .... service records... the whole thing... Now, she is an 2002 1150 gs (not adv) and its white.. I've never seen one before... any thoughts??? I am worried it may have gotten a paint job... which may not be so bad depending on the reason for it!
    here is the bike:

Take off the rider seat, there's a sticker down there on the frame that has the bike's paintcode on it. If they match then you're ok.

There's only three body panels anyway - Tank, front mudguard and rear mudguard. Two of them are plastic.

Looking at the lights and the stickers I'd say it's late '02 - just before they went to the twin sparks.

I've heard of white GS's (other than 06 Adv's). On ADVRider, of course. I think there's 1 4 sale in the FM now.

Thanks for the responses! I'm guessing it's not the most common color... but I sure like it! :evil I'llmake sure to check under the front seat though! and off course ask the soon to be previous owner!

Color white is more common with law enforcement bikes. Besides, the BMW sidecase cover on this GS looks like the one on the R1150RTP bikes (police).

That white looks sharp to me. White is very popular 2008/2009 for bikes, quite a few manufacturers are using it. The white R1200R from last year is gorgeous to me. Ducati have a few models in white too, and Buell. If I ever need paint on my 2000 R1150GS I will paint it white I think. I wish you all the best fortune in getting the bike.

Those are the BMW City Case lids, they'll fit on any system cases for RS/RT/S/GS/R. I had them on my R1100S System Cases to help keep the bike narrower during my commute, and I'd just change out to Touring lids for cross-country riding. You can (or could) buy the System Cases new with either the City lids or the Touring (wide/standard) lids.

    Thanks!

    The tank graphics came from an inmate, blue and black reflective is what I have; his site found here;

    http://www.humvee-graphics.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=37&osCsid=7f21eb2294600b4016f30abc752cc0a0

And the black extended mud guard came from Hamersley, found here

    http://www.webparts.com/diagram.php?btnr=46_0770&mospid=47995&hg=46&fg=25

Considering what the tank cost :eek1 , the extened mudgard was cheap...

    Thanks for the info!
She made it home yesterday... crazy storms through arizona had me going through rain, freezing rain, ice and snow!.. I'll post pics later on; she is 1600 miles older to a total of 5600! still young! just on time for an oil change.

The ABS light came on (blinks from top one to bottom one) and I can lock the wheels.. so its not working... Any Ideas of what this might be or why is it happening??

Your battery may be at fault - how old is the battery? Is the clock keeping proper time?

The battery is fairly new, i plugged it to the charger last night... going to go for a little spin and see if it solves it and if not I'm going to try the ABS reset from the hall of wisdom! It happened after riding on snow (rear wheel spinning faster than front) I hope the reset will take care of it. The clock is keeping time perfectly.
    Thanks!
