Maybe an odd or dumb question, but on reading this thread and seeing the photos and hearing the stories of changing this, fixing that, replacing etc, it came to mind: What do you do with all the spent oil, carcasses, beer cans, etc.? Do you have to pack that crap up every night too ? Or does the ASO supply cleanup and waste removal via local contractors? Just curious. And again, like all the others have said, a grateful thank you to the team.
You leave the garbage, oil, etc for ASO to pick up Camping with Desert Rose again, we're all waiting for Toby to come in, he was past cp3 last time we looked Had dinner with Ned and left in the dining tent doing his roadbook. Bike is washed, no speedo today as its a bit chilly outside Tim is addressing the daily bike issues and routine maintenance chores.
Since you are washing bikes, pretty good at it by now I would guess, you might check with Despres and Goncalves. Theirs looked in need of a little soap and water.
Tried to get a pick of Despres and his muddy bike at the bivouac but he must have "cleaned up" on the liasson.
Because of a reminder from Deadly99's avatar I ordered up my 2012 F5 T-shirt. Remember, thanks to Hayduke, the proceeds from the sales of F5 T's goes to this site, the place that provides the connection for the F5 fire hose that quinces our thirst for all things Dakar. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=17599156&postcount=265 .
Maybe caused by the Team F5irehose being read by Eurosport and other news sources who now use it surreptitiously
ASO can't allow that to happen for the integrity of the event. At least that's what I think. Can you share your bike cleaning tips? Especially the muddy bits.
