Congradulations. I see you already joined soviet steeds, good move. Now pick out a good dealer for ordering parts and you'll be all set. I suggest Heindl or Holopaw.

You're in for some fun. Ural's grow on you, to say the least. I sold my 06 Ural Tourist about a year ago, and sorely regret that decision.

My patrol was the best bike purchase I've made in a long time. Fuels an unhealthy obsession, as I'll be spending this weekend "pimping my sidecar"... Hot grips and heat troller for winter, hand and leg guards, routine service, cupholder, trunk lock and weatherstripping, driving lights, and whatever else I can think of! Then off for another ride Sunday.

I was speaking with a guy (I think on SovietSteeds.com) who indicated there were about 9 of us now in the southern NH area...

Have fun w/ that thing, Rocky. :thumb

I might add that Ski at TRiQuest in California has a big supply of parts & accessories. Great guy to do business with.

    I bought a 1997 "Deco Classic" in 1998...
Selling it was the best part.

Me and a friend bought identical bikes, 1 vin number apart. When my windshield cracked and split, so did his.... when my alternator burst into flames, his was right behind.... when my driveshaft splines stripped out, so did his...

I hope your experience is better than mine was.

Yours is 8 years better than the 1997 model. Massive improvements over that time period.

    Pat,

I got the ones that Heindl Engineering sells. They/he are on advrider and the service was impeccable. They are made by Cycra, I'll post some pics in a new farkle thread this weekend when they're on so you can see what they look like.

Thanks! That will be appreciated... The handguards on my f-650gs do a great job of knocking the cold wind off my hands..

Those 90's Urals were, shall we say, mechanically challenged, Your 05 is a substantially better machine. Most problems come from not following service schedule in manual. Keep up on the maintenance, and You'll do fine.
