There's quite a bit of riding which would require minimum road travel from Dragoon. If anyone with a lighter bike is looking for a fun place to ride try to google "St. David pits" and include something like atv/dirt bike in the search. It's an easy 30 min ride from Dragoon to the west and lots of cool places to explore.

    Found it.... http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trails/info/arizona_10530/ride_6fd6.htm

Wow, January is just flying by!

Only 40 days 'til Desert Daze and only 18 days left for t-shirt and sticker orders!

If you haven't ordered yet, now would be a good time to do it.

CLICK HERE to place your order.

We're coming out from NH for this and I tried to copy the gpx tracks to my mapsource............well Ok I don't know what I'm doing. I read the instructions on the desert daze website and could'nt make sense of it. I've got a csx60 and wondering if anyone has made tracks capable of emailing them to me in mapsource. If I'm not making sense please let me know. singed, lost in AZ but still in NH. P.S. my email dugiemott@metrocast.net

Wow, wrongturn, you are coming a long ways for the riding. One things for sure, it won't be like what you ride in New Hampshire... :freaky

Dont need gps in death valley-just stay on the road and keep riding and enjoy the sunshine.Unless you goto Amargosa dunes you are supposed to ride on established roads only.

    Hey wrongturn,

Glad to see you're coming and also glad the gps tracks worked out!

BTW, if you're driving in, D K is trying to get a bike trailered in from Ohio. Might be worth some gas money to PM him....

I can attest to this, last desert daze G-net came, a veteran of 3 rides (all in first gear). During desert daze she got a crash course in shifting and we did a fantastic day of riding afterward:D

I'm flying in I've got a KLR650 at a friends north of Phoenix. Another guy Jeffery is driving but he's got a full trailer.
otherwise he would have stopped in Ohio for sure.
Does anyone know if there are more tracks available (preferably off road) some where?

Thinking of coming down from Northern Colorado, that is if I'm still unemployed at the time. :nod

I'd probably bring both bikes, CRF450X (120 Miles), and DR650SE (250 miles). Would I be able to hook up with some group/s that would keep me out of trouble? :eek1

Be glad to return the favor this summer if anyone wants to come up here for some high country riding.

You'll absolutely find groups to ride with, whichever bike you're riding and whatever skill level you're at.

    Looking forward to seeing you!

Hope folks are getting excited! The weather has been gorgeous the past week.

Meanwhile, just a reminder that the deadline for t-shirts is fast approaching. If you want an event t-shirt, check out the STUFF page at www.dualsportdesertdaze.com.

    Ravenranger,

I printed out two of your posters, one is on the bulletin board in the customer lounge at Cochise Motorsports, and the other is prominently displayed in the front window of Sierra Cycles, both here in Sierra Vista.
