Having never been to that KOA ... do they have enough posts/ trees for a tent hammock to work out ok?

Hey newbreeze--I rode my XT225 out to Rifle and up to the RMAR Rendezvous in Meeker, rode the whole weekend, then rode home. Don't know yet if I'll be able to make it, but if I do, you and I can hook up for the XT ride to and from.

    Sent from my motorbike.

Heck the Super8 I stayed in this past summer with the kids is right around the corner there on 50, right on the other side of the Runway.

If you plan it out, you can ride from Gunnison to Bailey (and probably further) on almost all dirt.:deal

Buy a Benchmark Atlas of CO and it's easy to identify the paved and dirt and even harder dirt.

Is it likely that the campsites will fill up? I don't know how big the KOA is or how busy it gets.. I want to attend, but I'm not sure where I'll be at when it gets closer to August.

KOA is going to camp us on the grassy area, So I would say it is doubtful that we will run out of camp sites.

I use a combination of the Colorado Gazetteer maps (affectionately known as "red book"), google maps and burning gas to find new routes. I would say the XT could handle any road that is listed in the Red Book.

I think I'm going to stay at the water wheel. Not too far away, nice rooms, comfy beds, hot showers. :)

I should have a solar shower by then, but if the weather isn't up to par I'll be knockin' on your door! :D
