    Hi Everyone!
Was wondering if the Forestry trunk Road would be passable (in general) for a ride in May? Thinking of doing a ride then with a couple of Guys from Kilometer 0 Near Grand Prairie heading South. Thanks for any info!:D

Ah, Spring time in the Rockies.
I would guess at this point that early May might be really muddy/snowy
in places given the winter we're having so far.
It's really too early to tell. Could be dry/wet/snowy/muddy/buginfested/impassable, who knows?

Last time I spent any time on it, the North end was really deep and loose.
There can be inexplicable stretches of fresh gravel many miles from anything that can
    catch you out.

    Thanks for the reply Gp640!
I rode it last Aug and had a blast even though it rained every day. Some friends want to ride it too but May is the only time available. That is why I was wondering about the snow conditions there at that time of year. I I am wondering if it might be too early for good riding and camping. We don't mind mud but deep snow could be an issue. Is the FTR plowed during winter?

I've seen it plowed in winter but it can be deep.
With the weather we've had so far I'd guess it might take a while for
parts of the road to thaw out in the spring but your guess is as good as mine.
Heck, a few years ago Sylvan lake had ice on it until the first week of May.

    Thanks again GP640
I live in Lac La Biche and the lakes here often don't break up till the May long weekend! Makes waterskiing a little treacherous!:evil
