We're going to do the Ovens again from Superior Nov. 30. Depending on the group and what we all decide to see, it's 50-75 miles of rocks. Stage at the Superior HS next to the tennis courts & leave the parking lot at 8:30.
If you have not been before, read the details below before comitting. The ride should be 5-6 hours. This is a very rocky, remote but very scenic ride. This not a beginer ride, deep sand, lots of rocks & there may be a suprise or two that could make the normal hard spots seem easy ;)
Expect a flat & be prepared with the skill & parts to fix your own. Bring plenty of water & snacks.
Please come prepared with a well prepared bike & riding gear. Everything back here is pointed, hard or both. The guys that do this ride evey year are a pretty talented lot & will be moving at a brisk pace & the rocks don't let up until we're back on the road.
Lunch at Los Hermanos afterwards. I've ridden it in under 3 hrs, but it's also taken more than 7hrs to get a group through

Shit! This becoming a hunter thing is getting in the way of some great rides! I'll be there in spirit.

Maybe a pre ride is in order? Just to make sure it's still passable.....

    Yea, I am IN!

I just can't pass up your Guy's shananagins!:deal Or is that the new Guy's that pulls those??:lol3 Or maybe it's me??:evil

We are going the right way, right?? Hitting Ajax mine first? If not going up Honda hill is something, well...I will save that for you all to determine... hehe.

This one time at Band Camp, I mean the 1st. annual Coke Ovens Run, it took us 12 hours and had to leave a BMW behind and ride out double, one guy broke his GS up so bad that it cost him over 3k to fix! As Buddy stated in the first post, this is not a beginner ride, unless you like pain. hehe....

    Gripit-N-Ripit!!

Edit, 'Dos remember when Rob stopped and threw his old clapped out XR on the ground and turned it completely upsidedown to transfer gas from one side to the other and then could not get it started? Haha, good times...

Remember Zimmerman's brand new maiden voyage on that 690?

Word of advise, coming from experience, if someone offers up a "Bonus Route" quickly decline! This' gonna be good.

Ok, since no one else will be direct, I will. Alex, the warnings are for you. Plus, if you go on a 4play ride, especially the ovens, you have to have full protective gear.

    There. Was that so hard!?

Who's Alex, and he doesn't wear fall down pads?:huh

    After the Oven's he will I bet!:deal:D

You where on the first annual ride Don, that wasn't too fun. Remember that guy who crashed up his GS so bad? And when he went head first into that boulder? I thought he was dead.....The video was sick.

Don is right though, ATGATT!! Is a must and has saved my life!

I second the question, who is Alex? Is this going to turn in to a "where's waldo" thread. :lol3

ATGATT is a good moto to ride and LIVE by. At least it helps from breaking a nail or two............:rofl

Alex is CrownRoyal (the rougher the better). I guess he shows up with a tee shirt and jeans and work boots ready to ride the tough stuff, on a new 690. I think some of the new got knocked off it yesterday though.:deal

Hopefully, he now is going full ATGATT!!

Buddy is going to have his hands full this year.:lol3

He better not. Buddy has more than paid his dues.

He more than deserves someone else to pick up the slack this year. I nominate you all to do that.

    I'm a delegator.

:hmmmmm:nono:nono Remember 3 years ago when Jordy from down under came up to ride with us? I loaned him my pristine WR450? And I herded all the cats that year, on DOD's 525??

No more cat herding for me.... I fall down too much myself anyway.

It needs to be a good rider, like YOU!! Yea, that's it 'Dos for cat herder this year!! All in favor?

    Delegator.......:jack

That's sure is some funny shit........:poser

I'm going to ride close to Roger as well, so I can have Cyberdos pick my bike up.

Crown Royal, don't worry I will help you pick yours up as well. You better get some protective riding gear though. It's a wise investment as most will agree. We have all had some pretty severe crashes.
