San Diego social meet Thursday 24 July

Well, I leave in a week and as you can imagine I'm just a little bit excited about this trip.

I have bought an airhead and will be cruising up to Canada and back down the coast over nine weeks.

I've been in contact with several locals over the last few months and would love to put some faces to the names.

So, Thursday July 24 is the chosen date, the venue is yet to be decided. One of the guys is bringing his son along so I'm looking for a relaxed kid friendly venue that has decent food, drink options and a nice view or outdoor area to enjoy the (hopefully) good weather.

If you're in the area please come along if you can - if you're local please offer some suggestions for a venue.

What area of San Diego? How long are you staying before heading north?

I'm Lisa (JohnnyDakar's wife) You will be staying with us a night or two. Looking forward to this. What year/model airhead did you get? I have a '78 R80/7. What kind of food do you like?? Looking forward to chatting with you and living vicariously through your pics. You will have a blast.

Shakespeare's?

The C Level half of Island Prime/C Level is reasonably priced and has outside seating with great views. And parking.

The downtown Anthony's also has views and parking.

Lots of choices around town.

I arrive on the 22nd and will leave on the 28th probably. I'll be staying in University Heights then with JD and Lisa.

Hey Lisa, You may have seen my other post that JD resurrected? The beast is a '84 G/S and it will be my third airhead. I eat anything as you will shortly see.

I've checked out the suggestions - I like the look of the C level. As it's a Thursday will it not be too busy? No need to make a decision yet?

C Level's a great idea! L.A. Woman took me out to dinner there with friends for my birthday. Thanks, Trophyhunter. I was drawing a blank.

Yup, like Matt said I'll be riding the Airhead down from the Riverside area sometime Thu. with Thorazine 2.0. Whatever restaurant you all choose should be fine as long as its cool for a 12 year-old boy (and his father who acts like a 13 year-old). Then we'll motel it and take a long way back home on Fri. Looking forward!
