    January 24 - 27

    Furnace Creek Campground

    BYOB
    DIY
    book your own camp site
    bring your own firewood

bring the rain gear and large gas tanks:deal

OBVIOUSLY, BUT IT HAS TO BE SAID...........

ONLY RIDE LEGAL TRAILS AND ROADS IN DEATH VALLEY AND NEVER EVER RIDE ON CLOSED TRAILS OR "OFF ROAD".

Disclaimer: This is not an "Official" list of riders, participants, or people.
This is a list of names of "people" who are apparently going to be at some place
at nearly the same time as some other "people". Some of these "people" may
ride motorcycles, however it's not known if that is a fact or rumor. Very few,
if any, of these "people" actually know each other and, in fact, may not even like
each other. As far as I know there is no event planned in any National Park
where any of these "people" may, or may not, be destined. Remember ride or
don't at your own risk, your mileage may vary, professional rider on a closed
course, Member FDIC. Riding motorcycles can cause considerable risk to your
health and safety, you could even be killed or maimed. Just sayin.... If you end
up in a National Park and a ranger asks you what group you are with, please
know the correct answer or pretend to be mute, or deaf.

I did not write the above disclaimer I have no affiliation with any group or
non-group, I don't know how this disclaimer ended up on this post and will
delete it as soon as I see it.

here is a copy and paste of a previous post on the other thread.......

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the gathering is on and around the dates of.....
Thursday January 24 - Sunday January 27 (some of us stay until Monday morning)

    this is all low key.

    you make you own reservations.

the date is a suggestion, if you wanna make it a week long trip (some have) then do it.

and there is NO organized rides. you meet up with like minded ADV'rs and ride. nobodies holding your hand. there are some veterans of riding Death Valley, find them if you are unfamiliar and ride with them.

as for rides being NOOB or not.... the whole park is pretty much drivable by a mid 80's FORD Mustang.:lol3

there are some routes that are not NOOB friendly ie; Goler Wash/Megel Pass (but doable with help or if you are a superNOOB) and Echo Cyn.
both of these routes have "steps" or walls you need to pop the front up to make it over. but with the help from others, you can do it.

all the other routes.... Chloride Cliffs, Ubehebe Crater, Teakettle Junction, even Lippencot isn't that bad.

there are also A LOT of pavement. so you can see the park without doing much off roading. some ADV'rs have brought street bikes and rode pavement all day.

google map or google earth the park and see what's there.

    also, go on GPSxchange.com
    http://www.gpsxchange.com/
and half way down the page is "countdown" (he is a ADV rider/AMA rider) that has FREE GPS tracks.
click on his tracks and the Death Valley tracks and load your GPS before this ride and go for a stroll around the park.
you will need to sign up to gpsxchange but it's FREE!

also, i shouldn't have to stress this, but BRING YOUR OWN TOOLS AND TUBES AND TIRE PUMP AND WATER.

your buddies or ppl you are riding with should NOT have to change your tire or give you a tube or give you tools when you should have your own.

Over at drriders they say there are lots of klr riders going to this. They also say don't tell the ranger at the gate you are with the adv riders! So beware of the man!

Other than some idiots staying up until the wee hours of the morning drinking vodka tonics and yelling at some old man, there's never been an issue with the man.

Just good clean (other than the barf) fun. :freaky
