Loving the Kaoko I put on my '07. Don't know if the '12 is different, or if there's one for it, but I like the way you set it with "roll-on" wrist action using your pinkie finger. You can adjust after it's set, as it uses friction to hold the throttle position, but not so tight that it can't be rotated

I tried a bunch at the MOA rally. I left with the wunderlich. It works extremely well.

I've been using a Catapillar yellow o-ring for 3 years, works like a champ, looks interesting ( bright yellow) and absolutely so cheap, that if you don't like it, you can toss it without a thought. :deal

Bought my GSA from a private party last December---equipped with Throttlemeister. I haven't had a bike with one since my K1200RS in 1998. Since, I've had a Kaoko lock on a coupe of previous GS's and in comparison, the Kaoko is a little clunky and not as smooth-operating.

I have to say, the Throttlemeister works very well, with short engagement and has very smooth action.

Looks good too (has matching left bar end)-----recommended.

JVB just added the kaoko to mine. Folks who've ridden the GSA that I spoke with recommended it over the TM. I like it alot. I had TMs on my VFRs. :clap

I went with Tom Dowell's new unit ( http://www.excelthrottlecontrol.com/ ).
I've used the simple oring, Kaoka, TMaster, and a couple others.

The main problem was the reset after "turning off" - or not riding with the unit partially locked down.
This one does as it says - and he stands behind his stuff.
Ride well

I recommend it as a customer, its on or off. No in between. Holds the throttle well while still being able to turn for fine tuning.

I tried them all at the MOA rally. I like the wunderlich because you can change the tension on the fly. Among the locks that are either on or off the excell was the obvious choice. It just simply works and is so easy to engage and disengage. The wunderlich is not as easy to operate but offers more flexibility. Sometimes I want full lock. Other times I like just a bit of resistance so the throttle spring isn't so tiresome to hold. It just works for me. :)

Definitely Kaoko.

Works great and looks completely factory.

Maybe I didn't explain what I saw on the unit - and how the one I bought works.
It IS "on" & "off" - however, it has an adjustable tension feature while riding.
in a stiff wind, tall hills, etc, crank a click or two into the adjustment and keep on (it's the star wheel in the picture).
Like a light pressure, crank it back.

Like I said, I've ridden with a good number of items - this is the best of them.
No, it's not penny-tech, but... it works and looks like it's part of the bike it's on.

Another vote for the Excel.

I saw it at the BMW rally. Before that I was using the Kaolo, which works well and looks great. I didn't like the constant rolling on and rolling off the adjustment however. It seemed like I was always doing one or the other, and ended up not using it all that much.

I haven't had alot of time using the Excel product, but I can already say the on off feature is great. The quick tension adjustment is really nice, and it looks to be a beautiful piece of engineering. My guess it will be the choice of throttle locks in the future for those willing to spend the money.

I spent the $$ on the Excel throttle lock at the rally and love it.
Totally worth the money.
Easy to install and simple to use.

I couldn't find it on the Excel Cycle Werkes website, but if you give Tom a call he should be able to hook you up.

I would be doing Tom an injustice for not providing the web address:
http://www.excelthrottlecontrol.com/

Go look - as above, it is a work of art, and as he says, separate from the other Excel product.
the picture of the control installed (this one has the Excel o-rings on the grips)
Rode again today - the thing works!
