Well, this RR is coming a bit late as I'm already in Costa Rica as I write this, but here it goes anyway. I'm loosely traveling with 6 other guys. We split up and rejoin constantly. 4 of us are from Seattle, one's French but living in Canada, one's German, one's British. 3 of us are riding airhead GSs, 2 of us are on DR650s and the two Euros are riding XT600s. This first post will be pic heavy / text light as there's no way I can catch up on all the minor stories thus far. Enjoy the ride. Here we go.

Sweet pics! Looks like a great ride so far. Looking forward to more updates. I think I admired your bike at Ride West once. I got a thing for big, round headlights :evil.

I was quite taken with Tikal when I was there, friggin' jacarandi stole my damn lunch, and I was lucky enough to see a black panther at 5am on the road. Magical place. Glad you got to see it.

    heck yeah!

Okay, you gotta tell the story of why that red-headed guy was getting his hands bandaged. Oh, and why you were shooting a rifle with bayonet in a motorcycle jacket.

    where was this picture taken?

and where's the river crossing? I'm assuming they're related

um...I think that about does it. If you need any help from the states drop me a PM. I'm 6 miles from Boxerworks and I can probably get you anything you need. If he doesn't have it I can pull it off my bike. Good luck!

Damn Wrangler, no words necessary--those photos say it all. Amazing! This one sure looks a lot like the Eastern Washington.

    TEXT ONLY UPDATE:

We just hopped a sailboat from Puerto Lindo Panama to Turbo, Colombia. Photos will be coming as soon as we find a good internet connection, probably in Medellin or Bogota. So far, Colombia hasn´t shown itself to be the ¨the wretched hive of scum and villainy¨that many of the doomsayers claim it to be, in fact quite the opposite - lots of very helpful, friendly people who are really interested in what we´re doing, much more so than in any other place we´ve been so far. The scenery is also pretty breathtaking. Tomorrow we´ll hit some mountains, so I expect that to only get better. More later, including photos.
