I put this route together for a guy about a year ago. Mostly pavement but a nice ride. You can modify the start and end points to be closer to downtown since he was starting in the Cedar Park area. Hope this helps.

Guys- Work has me participating in the Loctite Booth at the upcoming Republic of Texas Biker Rally in a few weeks.

I'm bringing the 640A with me and would like to hook up with a few Austin ADV'ers to show me around some nifty rides or offer up a few loops that could get me back to town by 2p with an early start.

I'll be able to ride June 10, 11, and 12- a Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The loop Tjrockit posted above looks like it has some nice twisties sure to make me smile. Any idea of how long this ride might take?

Tar or Gravel is fine, but I do like out of the way gravel- any takers/suggestions?

The above ride will take 3 to 4 hours depending on how fast you ride.

If you're looking to hook up with some other riders, a couple of suggestions.

Post what day/days you'd like to ride and ask if anyone want to join you on either one of the 2 below links. Lots of Austin guys hang out on these forums.

I would, but I have plans already. Sorry. :thumb

I added a bunch more roads to the Google Hill Country Dual Sport map today.... Rearrainged & relabeled some others too. Added county location to the road post & moved them to the location for all others in same county. Makes the list easier to read. Generally southernmost roads on 1st page & northern roads on 2nd. If ya need to move a new post...just click & drag to the very top or bottom of the side bar. Still some left to move, but most in some sort of order....Hope everyone is OK with my changes.......

I wanna keep addin to this thing....More dirt/gravel too. Prob get suggestions from slowoldguy for those.

The Butler synthetic (waterproof) folding maps will be great for use on the bike but the Google map will still be a good resource when the net is available.

Schoepf's BBQ in Belton & Mary's Cafe in Strawn....Both really good in their own ways.

Also did a little more rearraingin of the listings.

Did make it up north a few weekends ago & have added a few more good roads to the map on page 2 of the list (the more northern listings)

I'm also considering an EAST TEX map with all the twisty figits I can find to list. Would be great for those unbearable "100000watt hair dryer" days here in the summer.

With all the paved stuff I've added, perhaps it's time for slowoldguy to add his "durty little gems" to the map. Tom....send me your goodies & I'll post 'em up on the list. I kno you've got some pretty good stuff from the RTB rally that needs to be on the map.

Hey Ya'll....I got to wonderin....just how many roads have been posted to this hill country map since it was started......

Well,an impromptu count says about 350 give or take a few. ...& that's not countin the posts for places,watercrossings....& stuff.

NO WONDER IT TAKES SOOOO LONG TO LOAD!!!!

    GREAT THREAD!
I'm in Glen Rose right on HWY 67 and FM 205 & Paluxy River. Roads are pretty well can't miss as long as I head north or south and stay within about a 30 miles wide east to west lane
I'll have to get out and try and take some video of the local roads.

My best memories of FM2222 ? ... I want to say it was called a RR, RanchRoad, were not riding but parking as a 20-22 year old with future 1st ex! Last time I was down it a couple years ago I didn't see anywhere I could do that either now:cry

My brother is turning 50, so I'm getting him back on a bike and taking him out for the afternoon through the hill country. Here is the route we are going to take and the invitation I sent him. The idea is that it would be a little more aggressive on the way out and a little easier on the way home. I am open to any suggestions anyone has. I purposely skipped the James River Road. We may ride out to it to see what it looks like but am not interested in dropping the bike in deep water. :deal
