We've got a small ADV contingent heading to Red River in Meunster on Sunday. For those who've never been, it's a 2700 acre motorcycle playground with trails for every skill level. We'll have a white dodge dually with a grey goose-neck horse trailer and Ohio plates.
Is that worth going to? I had never heard of it and just checked out their website - it comes across as, um, I don't really know how to say this, snobbish?? So it's $20 per person to get in, than another fee if I want to camp, another fee if I should want to plug in an electric device, I can't use bathroom/shower facilities unless I'm a paying member (regardless of whether I've paid the camping fee), I have to be gone by 6pm, etc. - it just comes across kind of snobby IMO. Is it worth it??
Luckily I'm not into sports I'm just a bit financially challenged at the moment. It's cool that this place exists and it's only about two hours from my house. It just seems like a lot of fees to pay - if it's worth it, I can deal with it. That's why I was asking if it's worth the money to go check the place out
Yes!!!!!!! Worth going to! Every type of terrain you'd want and plenty of trails for every skill level. I found my piece of N Texas heaven.
To answer your question, YES, it's worth it. They've got something for every skill level and an incredible amount of trails. Yes, the prices are a little steep, but the cost of operating a 2700 acre park is no small task. Yes, there are perks to paying the $50 membership fee: shower facilities, $10 for entry, ability to access the park when it's closed to the general public, etc. Camping is free with your admission, there's an up-charge if you need electrical hook-ups. If you want to ride some real quality trails, this is the place to be. We'll continue to post whenever we plan on riding, feel free to join.
Yes!!!! Amazing, N Texas heaven. Zach has more info. I'm just saying we became members today. Place is amazing.
I'm just still used to when it was $8 /day, and there wasn't the constant threat of a head-on with some drunken quadtard. I haven't ridden there in 5 years that wasn't an organized event. Don't really plan to, honestly. Unless I go on a weekday or enduri/race
OK, you guys sold me - now all I need is my Ural and I can head up there to check it out. Hope to have my rig within the next 2-4 weeks
That would be good! Chris brought Laura yesterday - first time I ever got to trail ride with another girl. I can't imagine 3 girls there! I know ThumperGirl wants to come up at some point as well. And I can bring my little TTR if she wants something a little easier to trail ride for the first time. A bigger bike can be exhausting, especially when you're just trying to figure it out.
So you think a Ural is too big for their trails? I'm new to Urals, off roading (haven't done that since like 1990), and I've never been to this park, etc.
Yeah , Sorry i didnt ride w you guys. Luckily I got a few miles i some electrons were mildly inconvenienced in the sending of this message
