Great video of Luis, that he gave his medal to MIke Stanfield had me wiping away a small tear of happiness for the guy.

It should also be noted that it was Mike Standfield and Scott Spears (along w/Sandi) of Freedom Rally Racing that helped Manuel Lucchese get his mousses in his time of need.

When Sandi was notified of the need, she immediately got in contact with the team and Mr. Standfield stepped up to help.

From the time he posted his need on Facebook to the time he had his new mousses was under 4 hours.

Luis and Scott weren't able to connect with me today, but they are feet-wet and we will try to catch them once they come home. :beer

guess who showed up at the shop today...

mr. 11 time his very own self.. fresh of the airplane from dakar.. he regaled us with tales from the far off lands...!!! we asked him if he wanted to roost with his rip brothers tomorrow in baja... he politely declined.. reminding us, while showing his battlescars, that he was just back from an EPIC dirtbike ride his very own self.. roughly the equivalent of san clemete to new york... and back... on a dirt bike...

johnny you are excused... but remember rip to cabo is just a few months away... let's roost in baja brother.. wheelies on the beach... it was great seeing you and faye... and thanks again faye for updating us all riding in spirit with johnny...

and for you sayers of ney... it wasn't fuel tank capacity that was HRC's issue.. and i'll leave it at that.. HRC can tell there story as they wish...

all i gotta tell ya is watch out for honda in 2014...

It is a DAMN shame that the podium ceremony was so isolated from the masses who wanted to see it. Let's hope that the organizers don't make the same mistake next year.

Quick question: there are 3 crew in the trucks - driver, navigator.... What does the third guy do? Monitor the gauges like a flight engineer?

For the third year in a row, fans from around the world have followed Luis Belaustegui as he's attempted the Dakar on a 2-stroke KTM 150. Last year he came agonizingly close before a crash and injury ruled him out a stage from the end. This year, he had to overcome one challenge after the next in order to make it. When you hear his attitude, I think it will be clear why he was able to triumph.

We chat with mechanic and team manager Scott Spears, followed by Luis, as they are on a layover on their flight home from Chile. Thanks for taking the time to speak with us guys, and congratulations on a job well done!!
