When I saw the spooge on this ,I thought blown seal.




Then I saw the same spooge on these two. Did the guys cut through the hog lot?
If not what kind of stuff do the patch the roads with in Bulgaria ?

that black 'spooge' is from turkey. they spray the roads with it, then dump gravel on it & let the trucks do the work. Its very interesting when travelling the other way with an open faced helmet.

I asked em if the turks gave them an extra tax upon leaving for taking so much of the new road out of the country

well thanks. Yep, the shovel is an awesome bike. Im really missing it (on the smooth dry roads, anyhow)

As last years trip got cut kinda short, next year I want to visit Syria, Lebanon, Jordan (maybe Israel, if the boats to Greece are running again)and will try for an Iran visa next winter. If that goes thru, then I'll visit Iraq again, and probably ride around the Black Sea to get there.

or maybe something totally different.

If you go to Israel, you can't get into Iran. If you go to Iran, you can't get into Israel. Unless you have two passports

Also, Americans have to have a minder (an official tour guide) in Iran at all times. We aren't allowed to run around loose there. Took us about 4 months to get the visa, too.

This company will take you there, from Montfalcone (next Trieste) to Haïfa or Ashdod... kind of expensive though! 5 days at sea stopping in Piraeus & Alexandria.
It's a freighter company but they accept passengers (few) with cars or bike

When entering Israel one can immediately request that they don't stamp your passport. They will ask you to fill out a form, which they will stamp (instead of your passport) for entry & exit. This alternative is highly recommended if one plans on traveling to Muslim countries after Israel.

So today I got my last visa, for azerbijan. 6 visas in 4 days. If anyone need to find these embassies, just ask, I went to em all enough times!
