    Yeah I was pumped for Malcolm. That field is stacked DEEP. And he was charging all the way to the end. I wonder if he ran out of gas. It was right at the end. And he was on the gas hard for 29.75 minutes.:wink: With a decent start a top 5 is well within reach in moto 2. If he can keep digging that hard. Maybe his drive will wear off on his big little brother. I have been pulling for him in SX all year. He has got that kind of a underdog quality. Where is Milsaps?

    I read on Allsports, Mookie's water pump got a hole in it, as the result of contact.

    I didn"t see the race but I'm guessing he kept riding it until it eventually overheated.

    Yep. I got a report from the track (from my 7 year old boy!) that Stewarts bike was smoking (steaming?) for a couple laps before it quit.

    You pretty much can fill in the blanks. (names).

    Dean Wilson must heal quickly he's back already on a 450 with a 17-14 finish.
    Chad Reed 10 -38. Must have had something go not quite right.
    Weston Peick who starred in a few of the SX 450 LCQ's with a solid 13-8 for 10th overall.
    Nicoletti 11-11 for....:drums 11th overall. :D


    Top forty 450 riders chose.

    Kawasaki 9 times
    Honda 7 times
    Suzuki 10 times
    Yamaha 7 times
    KTM 7 times

    First Yamaha was Nicoletti.

    Nick Wey at 22nd overall has no sponsors listed and chose a Kawasaki.

    KTM - 5
    Kawasaki - 10
    Honda - 17
    Suzuki - 3
    Yamaha - 5

    It would seem that based on the Hangtown results when looking at 250 and 450 the overwhelming choice of weapon is the Honda 250.

    Honda's contingency payout is about double the green guys this year.

    Red pays $10k for a 450 win,and I believe $8k for a little diesel.

    Some guys can recover gas and travel money easily by making top 10 or close to it when the contingency is up there.

    So what has changed (besides the contingency incentive) ?

    Wasn't the only way to compete in the 250's was to have a Pro Circuit mega bucks Kawasaki engine?

    I bet those green engines are cheaper now with some competition.


    Pro Circuit used to build the Geico Honda engines.
    Taking some of Mitch's titles, and DMG turning the roadrace series into shit, made for a great opportunity for Yoshimura.

    I believe a 10th place on a Honda is worth near $1k this year, and I don't know if the others even pay that far back.
