Our local riding/drinking club (aka the Tulsa Tuesday Pub Crawl Riders) were closely following the Dakar Rally and did our best to emulate the pros within Oklahoma state boundaries. Inmate Newner organized a weekend visit to Little Sahara State Park in western Oklahoma. Luckily, we all made it out alive. There were ten of us: Newner XR250 Dirt2007 KLX300 Frontiercat TE449 JumpJet 400EXC Tomski74 DRM650 DirtyDog KLR650 _cy_ GSPD Throttlemeister Honda 400EX FatBob Suzuki Z400 Yanush Honda Rincon 680 Pics, videos, and tales from the event will be compiled here. Enjoy. Teaser pic:
. Thanks Newner for all the effort. Charles for dinner. Tmeister and FatBob for getting the KLX up and running. Good times. (in before Doc)
The mornings were a bit cold. But by mid day we all needed refreshments. Please note the official Dakar swag I didn't take many pix, but I have some GoPro footage. Working on it now
Tomski only got a warning and thankfully will not have to register as a sex offender yet Was a really great time out at the dunes with some great friends Thanks guys!

Nice vid. Wish I could have ridden this morning. Next time we go out there, I think some headphones and jamming tunes would be appropriate. A few more of my pics. The early arrivals included Throttlemeister, Newner, JumpJet, and I. we drove through snow on the three hour drive, but wasted no time getting out in the sand. The terrain was amazingly packed and the traction was much better than expected (especially for those of us without paddle tires). Took a bit of practice to learn how to ease over the crest of the big dunes. None of us could understand why Newner couldn't keep that tiny bike upright. Throttlemeister gave it a spin and wiped out a bit. Meanwhile, JumpJet and I were buzzing around them. I missed getting evidence of his jumps and wheelies. Tiring work. As you can see from the attire, it was pretty damn cold Saturday morning.
At about lunchtime, the rest of the crew had largely arrived. We occupied three campsites and readied for another trip out to the sand. iPhone pics... Of course one of the bikes wouldn't run.:ddog So we had to pass the time with beer. Unfortunately, the beer led to outrageous public decency[?]
So Titski, what did you get the warning for? Surely not for flashing Newner was it? love the vid btw..man that looks like fun..growing up, I enjoyed riding in the sand, miss it..I hope to attend the next outting, if'n y'all go back out there..bet that place is miserable on a hot summer day tho..sweat and sand suk! That I remember all to well and to this day, have had my fill of that!
I was just watering trees Anyway, here is another vid. It's pretty long (12 mins), but it's a montage of about 3 hours of riding. BTW, you can watch it in full HD 1080. Hope you like it: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/77ZsALVvK9k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
