Thanks Reddog*, I was gonna look into that, but hadn't read the "guidelines" for that. Im trying to have the attendance around 100 people this year to justify the time, planning, and expense.
Hoping to do alot in the ways of promotion and awareness of the event. This really is a spectacular place to ride out of

Oh yeah! Beware there are two Betsie River Canoe/Campgrounds in Northern Michigan. Don't accidentally go to the one in Frankfort, Mi. Although it isn't that far away from the one in Thompsonville. I know this from experience.

I would love to see this Rally moved to the U.P. sometime.

    Maybe Gwinn next year?

I have plenty of dual sport routes laid out in that area that are available for download. There are also two single track motorcycle trails nearby.

Here are a few of them.

Newberry is a good option as well. Lots of DS tracks over that way plus some single track trails.

If invited I will be there camping under the Joshua tree.
I may make Camp Slapaho my summer home.
Thanks Ryan for organizing event again.
Really excellent place, great campground right on trail system, owners are MC friendly, clean bathrooms with hot water/shower, Mobil station across the street with a pizza restaurant, local diners closeby for breakfast.
Great base for dirt or street rides.
This is a great spot/great event...Ryan is a great host.
Everyone needs to follow this thread and mark calendar.
I will be there with lots of bikes.

In if it's in Gwinn. The latter two weekends work well.

Not gonna be in Gwinn, although thats nice ride area.
This place is right next to Crystal Mountain Ski Resort , Thompsonville, Michigan so you F.I.B.s, cheeseheads, and yoopers need to find a way around the small pond called Lake Michigan, theres a bridge, a freeway, a couple of ferry's.
Its well worth the trip, Ryan throws a nice party/event.

I like that area, too. Logistically harder for me, though. I'm keeping an eye on this. :eyes

The problem I see with Gwinn/up is distance. If your in SWMi, Gwinn, etc., is a long haul for a weekend rally. Your talking most of 1day to get there and another to get back. That and for the ol' sexagenarian, a 400+mi ride on the XR600 on asphalt to get there ain't in my bones no more!

As for the weekend.....will get back to you after the Gilmore bike show weekend date is announced.

I'm pretty sure that we will be in THOMPSONVILLE, MI, June 14-17..............This weekend seems to work well, and allows a few of us to attend the Gilmore Classic Motorcycle. Saturday is a vintage ride, and Sunday is the show. I highly reccomend this show to anyone that has the least bit of interest in motorcyles. Great event, demos, swap meet, and last year they had a mini motard track. I appreciate all the insight, I love the U.P. as well, but it becomes hard to justify travel time for a long weekend. I would like to keep it closer for the folks here in S.W. Michigan.

hmmmmm...do I mount a winch on the front of the hack......or do I just ride the XR600......decisions, decisions......or do I remove the tub from the hack, mount a channel and haul the XR up on the hack....:evil
