It's time for a new front rim for my 950

Has the Super Enduro Dirt star Rim been a success ?
Looks like it may be the easiest way , straight lace up no drilling holes re the nipples or does an Exell or Sun etc etc come pre drilled for the 950 lace up ? :ear

I've read here about people saying they were good.

I ordered an 2.85 Excel and spokes from Woodys.

I'm going to get a 19/17 set some day.

I've put 30K miles on an SE front rim with not one ding. After the initial install, the spokes haven't needed any adjustment, either.
Having a black rim on the front, and a silver out back is the only issue, and it's not a concern for me, anyway.

Im running the Se front wheel and am very happy with it. I have dented the crap out of it, but there isn't a wheel made that's not going to dent and bend at some point. Its much better than the stock ADV wheel.
Ill buy another when the time comes.

Anyone have a source for these Euro spec'd SE Dirt Star front rims that are not $320?! :eek1

Jap. patterns for $120 to $180ish will not lace up.

the Sun rims are soft as butter off the counter
Takasago excell is soft as butter just out of the fridge,
IMO a wasted effort if doing all that, for a few bucks more you can get a decent rim

the dirt stars are pretty good and someone said the indexing laces right Up
If night racer can run it you know its tuff the dudes a maniac rider

I got a spoke set and leced up the toghest rim out there, the Excel A60 with KTM dirt bike indexing which requires a custom spoke kit
CJ Designs stocks the custom spoke kit

I ride the 950 " for real" off road and my stock rim started to look more like a sprocket but now I have no dents or dings after lacing up the A60

Thought that was the one I used. Looks like their website has changed since I got mine from them.

The one I used had was EURO drilled and laced right up to my stock hub.

You should be able to buy a 950 SE front rim from any of the discount KTM parts dealers for about $250.

I have an entire Dirt Star 21" front wheel (rim and hub) that I'd part with for a reasonable price. It's from my 950 SE. I'm running a different set up on the front now. PM me if interested.
