Heading out of London. Slowly. Very slowly.

Hello ADV

I have been riding motorbikes for a few years now. Had some nice sporty bikes in the past, but I live in a super high motorbike theft area, and the bike fairies took my nice bikes away in the night. Got a new bike intended for commuting in London last year.



Sinnis Trackstar.

Anywhos, this year I realized, after all my biking, I know no other bikers, and I have never just gone for a ride out for the fun of it. Always very practical, to work and back only. So this year I have decided to exit London, albeit rather slowly, and head to biker cafes, get lost down some back roads, go to trials events, racing, motocross, and generally have fun on the bike. I wanna take some pictures too. I dont know what of yet, but if I find anything interesting, ill be sure to share

All the Uxbridge motorcyclists park about this church, was however rather early when I went past mind, I expect to be nipping about there a lot.



Headed off to explore Black Park first. I havent been there for nearly 20 years... Its been a long time scince I stepped out of London.



The roads got smaller.



Ahhh an NSL road. Glad nobodys about, my bike doesnt like going over 50 mph



Found my way back to Black Park.



Checked my watch and realized I had been on the go 6 hours or so, time to head home too the pups, Sally quite happily post for a home time shot too

Excellent stuff nice looking bike, I have just got a 1998 sr125 to have a play on and for the ride to work picked it up from London today have to say I love it good excuse to get the open face helmet out, send me a pm if u come down Ashford way

Part 2 - In which Frogs are seeked, and a bendy road is encountered.

First day trip out of London was fun, but I did stick to some rather straight roads. So this time I thought I would head for some little wiggly lanes, and try to find a road I had heard of called Froggy Lane. No particular reason, just like froggys :)



That was a straight road. Not wiggly, and no frogs.



Might find a froggy in that puddle.... We can do better and the roads still not bendy enough though...

A trip down Froggy Lane and then home. I had found a road with bends, and the fabled Froggy Lane.

I notice my pictures are all somewhat the same (West of London in the spring ^^) So next day trip will be finding different things to picture.

Ill try for some city pics next week. Its a bit dull and rather grey I am afraid. I live in a very uninteresting part of town. Not much to see except the Hoover building. Oh and odd drunks.

Part 3 - In which a duck quacks and a tractor is spotted.

Weve had a silly amount of cold and rain despite my previous pics, so screen, top box, and hand guards went back on bikey.




Grand Union canal. I want to live on a boat on these canals some day. Runs from the Thames right up to Birmingham. I didnt go that far, but I did find a butterfly along the canal. Was a bit soggy out but cleared up a bit as I rode out.




Was aiming for a picture of the butterfly, but got a nicely colour canal shot. I stuck on the canal until Uxbridge.




Where I got quacked at. So I left town and headed for Harefield. Where I found this...




Had to take some more pictures













Rain returned with a sodding vengeance and didnt stop for rest of the day. Went home soggy after that.

Its a nippy little bike. Absolutely teensy, stupidly small turning circle (even a nub like me can U-Turn in a single parking bay 6-7 ft across?), lightweight, engines fine, gets 125mpg on Shell V-Power. I self service it every 2000km, change oil regularly. The only issues are the welds look messy (doesn’t feel like its going to fall apart, but looks rough), and its a bit slow. About this :

Max speed during running in : 30mph?
Max speed the bike feels unstrained : 40mph-45mph
Max speed the bike goes : 60mph-65mph
Max speed the bike goes off a cliff : Maybe 85mph-95mph – Untested

Bikes nothing to be excited about. Always reminds me of a Jack Russel to be honest. Can imagine it wagging its top box was a daft expression on its face. Is a perfect commuter though.

Yes indeed, that is a rather unusual benevolent report. And rider comments support it too.

The mileage is excellent, 100 mpg and you even manage 125 mpg. I am willing to believe this is indeed the first chinese motorcycle that will hold its own.

He made it in the end. Was a couple of years ago, and he never really publicized it as much as he should have. Would have been interesting to see how the bike coped all the way along. :)

Part 4 - In which I go in search of spring

Still quite cold in UK, and we are lacking colour around here



Never mind! Lets head to the local forest! Bound to find green there!



No greens. Did find some lovely carvings on a bridge though!

After a nice but chilly ride, I went home and edited in spring...

It's been hard to go back into winter set after the promising start of March's initial weeks.
So spring 's around the corner? As soon as our baskets are filled with eggs? Should be, shouldn't it?
