Received my stove kit today. Nicely put together, well thought out little package! I nearly killed myself when I took the wind shield out of the zip-tie. The thing whipped open like a switch blade and nearly slit my throat! :eek1

Just kidding. Everything is very well made and I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Looking forward to many hot meals and morning cups of coffee, thanks to you and your daughter!

    Best Regards!

PS: Is the little bottle made of food-grade plastic? I was thinking of using it for olive oil since I'll carry a larger 16oz aluminium bottle for the methanol fuel.

The windscreen will lose its temper a bit after a few heatings and will become less "springy."

The bottle is a pharmaceutical HDPE and I *think* since it's a pharmaceutical plastic, it exceeds "food-grade."

    Glad you like the kit!

Here's some information I found on HDPE plastics that others might find useful:

    HDPE (high density polyethylene)
Found in: Milk jugs, juice bottles; bleach, detergent and household cleaner bottles; shampoo bottles; some trash and shopping bags; motor oil bottles; butter and yogurt tubs; cereal box liners

    (Read more: http://www.thedailygreen.com/green-homes/latest/recycling-symbols-plastics-460321#ixzz2PhcNx8eH)

Clearly, I'm good to go to use the little 4oz bottle for olive or vegi oil.

    Cheers!

    Gotta move more stoves!

Evy and my wife were in a car accident 100 miles from home on the way back from a kayak race on Sunday. Evy was driving, but it was the other guy's fault (left turn into our minivan from right lane of a 4-lane boulevard.) The uber-clean, well-maintained, reliable 15 year old minivan will most-likely totaled, leaving us with a petty cheque in our hands to replace the vehicle with a piece o' crap.

Yup, they're shaken, but OK. Evy says she's never driving again, but she's pretty resilient. She got her learner's permit just a month ago.

Fortunately, my father-in-law was able to loan us his pickup truck so the two of them could go back to MD to train for the upcoming ICF Ranking Race and US Senior Team Trials at Wisp Resort May 17-19.

This spring Evy won Bronze at the US Senior Team Trials, earning her a position at the 2013 Senior World Championships in Prague, Czech Rep.

She won Silver at the US Junior Teal Trials, and she will compete at the Junior World Championships in Liptovsky-Mikulas, Slovakia in a couple weeks.

She arrived in Europe last week and won Bronze at The ECA Junior Cup race #1 in Solkan, Slovenia! Race #2 is in Krakow, Poland this weekend.

To commemorate these events, we will be offering FREE SHIPPING on stoves in the US from July 1-31! ($2.00 shipping per stove to Canada.)
