Tucson Area Banter Board (TABB2!)

So, I agree with Low Down. I banter like everyone else, but I really liked that I could go here and find links to threads concerning rides in a much easier search.
However, more often than not, the rides are discussed completely in the TABB instead of being linked to. The same with ride reports.
TABB is stickied, if we can use it to make the announcements of rides and other high priority items that may interest us all, it would be fantastic.

Perhaps we can move the banter to here
As much banter as we have, this will always be on the top page (or two on a bad day)!

Easy one. Carefully bend the lever back and see if the problem persists.

If the lever stays on the bike, grab near the shaft with pliers to stabilize and use another pair of pliers to bend the lever out away from the case. Slowly to keep things from breaking.

If you take the lever off, you don't have to be as careful because you won't damage the shifter shaft cranking on the lever

Bending the lever back is nothing more than putting a band-aid on the problem. Until you address that, your problems will persist.

Oh, the root cause?

In my defense most of those naps were before it was lowered and the other one was in sand.

My rear tire does a fair job of casting stones...well, it used to. There isn't much tread left anymore....

I have heard it recommended against stronger levers for fear of transferring the force of the drop to the shifter shaft. I don't know how durable they are but I like the idea of the shifter bending out of the way and being able to bend it back as a fix until a new one is delivered...

You only get one notice until the next time you visit the site. One notice per thread, then you have to go back to the thread and that means you have to visit the thread and sort through to get to ride info. Unless the next post happens to be about a ride...

I got home from work and got the itch to ride. Sean was game, so I thought I'd take him out to get his tires dirty and we headed out to Redington Road. I led at a nice easy pace and we successfully made it up the dirt roads to the nice lookout spot and back down with no incidents at all!
