If it does not involve an ambulance, it's all good!
Same goes for you ya know,, if you need a ride inna old Royota pickup,or a bike hauled,,,

,,call Linda, she has my truck,,:lol3

Yeah, not looking real rosy for the old Hondacar. I'm going to vacuum out what I can, toss some new plugs in & cross my fingers. We'll see.

Not sure T. Picked them up from Knecht's when we did the timing belt/water pump/idlers etc about 2 or 3 years ago (25k miles anyway).

Vacuumed out all 4 holes and tried a new set of plugs this afternoon. Sounds the same...kind of wants to start but feels like there's something wrong with the timing. Wondering if it swallowed a valve or something. I should pop the head to see what's under there.

Deciding on which way to go now....car is worth maybe $1k running. Not sure it's worth throwing any $/time at a 23 year old car with 240k on it.

I did find a used, 150k mile engine on CL for $250 though :dunno

Oh, and OMB, ask neighbor Tom about it if you see him tomorrow. He was duly impressed :lol3

May have a guy from CL coming over to pick it up from me instead of me trying to swap a used engine into it. We'll see :freaky

I will see Tom in the morning.

I just bought a new car due to basically the same situation you're in. Not running your car is worth a couple hundred bucks as scrap. At 240k would it be worth your time and money? Mine wasn't worth fixing. I had no love for it anyway so the decision was pretty simple.

I feel like I've got my $ out of this car so I won't be messing around.

I did just roust up neighbor Tom from dinner though :lol3 Figured I'd give it one more shot...just a bit of starting fluid to see if there's something clogging up the works.

I now have teh custom, ventilated valve cover :clap

    Yeah, it was loud :evil

    Holeee Sheeeet !!

Stop now....before you hurt yourself...lol. Starting fluid or any other Snake Oil isn't gonna make that better. You did however do a BANG up job of pressurizing the Crankcase..:rofl

I am disappointed that you didn't video that...

You've sucked a valve at least, can't think of another way for explodey gasses there...
Might explain that plug damage too; valve is banging around inside the combustion chamber.
Might as well set the rest of it on fire. You've got a good start, but try tannerite and a leaky bottle of propane next.:D:rofl

No problem, I'm not going to stick you with something you can not use. I would rather keep ya happy. Money is not what I got into this for (at least not yet). let make the swap, get you a refund and mount some lights. I will bring some stock tomorrow and get you what you need. No worries.

mounted those little jewels last night a couple ways: bottom of the fork legs behind the legs and in front (fronts better), above the blinkers, and tried under the factory lights. not sure where they"ll live for good yet- low down seems like a good idea for :huh factor, and less OH MY GOD THE GLARE!!! factor...
... one low and one high would be even better, but I'm a symmetry guy I guess- don't matter which I guess as the pow factor is really significant; I'm going to be pissing off the populace...

:eek1 I'd post a picture but they all just look like staring into the sun...

LOL, thats a good thing, Sun at night is a solution not a problem ;-).

Thank you to everyone who purchased last night. I think the 4 LED, 1/2 amp draw, 2.6'' x 2.6'' is really going to be the ticket for most of you. I am going to place another order for more. Most likely 1/2 case in 6000k k white and the others in 3000k yellow for a fog application. We will see what my supplier will allow and go from there.

    Thank you again.

Good to do binness with you Ryan. I'm gonna try to get my lights at least hung on the scooter this weekend. I might even attempt to wire 'em up but I gotta make sure I have some fuses and an extinguisher handy before I start the project.

OAN- I couldn't HELP but notice the disapproving looks when my "austere tailbox" was spotted as I arrived at the Pad last night. Hugs and kisses to tblume and lww who at least TRIED to act 'other than disgusted' when I 'splained the concept to them.

The whole episode took me back to elementary school when how cool you were, was in large part determined by how cool your lunch pail was. If you had a Harlem Globetrotters pail....a Johnny Quest pail....or a Speed Racer pail, you were the sh_t!
Hell....even a Lost in Space pail was borderline acceptable.

Me....well my dear parents sent me on down the sidewalk towards Strandwood Elementary each morning with a lunch pail shaped and painted like a friggen barn....a BARN I tell ya! The thing just SCREAMED "beat my ass". Please....check out the link below to properly 'feel my pain'.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-195...612?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item460a928a94

Now it's taken me roughly the last 44yrs...and they've been rough....to reconcile myself to the fact that 'The Barn' does not determine my self worth.
Thanks to you FF's.....I'm looking around for my therapist's number.

made a mount for a single lite on the airhead,
mounts to the upper crash bar, waiting for paint to dry for pics.

KLR is gonna be more of a challenge for mounting, no good solid bits that won't put the lite in danger of breaking in a get-off.

    Times were lean............
