Biketoberfest in Daytona is October 19th-22nd, 2006. If you don't know already I have an old hunting and fishing camp on Lake Kerr in Salt Springs about 50 miles west of the festivities. It's located right in the middle of the Ocala National Forest. Numerous trails both hardpack and sand exist here. There are hundreds of miles of excellent pavement running in and around the forest too. There's even an old ferry that still crosses the St. Johns River. And in October it's still warm enough to enjoy a dip in the local springs; what a great way to cool off after a good dual sport ride. :nod

We're going to be camping at The Scrub during Biketoberfest.

This will be a party you won't want to miss :freaky

Red Death and Ribs will be served Saturday :yum along with my famous garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed green beans.

    In order to buy...

    Ribs
Keg Beer (Yuengling Black & Tan, Yuengling Lager)
    Condiments

    Please order a Ribtoberfest T-Shirt @ $20.00 each

Remember this is a four day event and we're gonna need lots of beer :beer
If we have a surplus of funds then I'll check on getting some fresh shrimp :yum for Friday. They're normally good in October

Topdog is printing the T-shirts. The print will be on the front only.

He did the shirts for BYOB and I've read many posts where he received nothing but praise :ilmostro

    JD,

Motogirl and I will be there, even if I have to quit my job to get the weekend off. I have canceled the usual Biketoberfest party at my house, so a few of the Savannah crew you met at my Bikeweek party might come to Ribtoberfest instead. I still have a big pile of firewood to haul up to The Scrub but I don't have a weekend off for a while. I'll get in touch with you soon.

    Later,

    Mobeer

I can meet you up there one afternoon during the week if necessary.

I'm gonna load up my old F700 with wood too. I owe the neighbors some cooking wood from Ribfest and Memorial Day. :beer

There's another thread running about a Florida ADV Rider's get-together. Perhaps a combining of the two groups wouldn't be a bad thang?

And I apologize for missing the earlier Ribfest during Bike Week. Recovering from a nasty case of meningitis that I brought back from Mexico will do that :1drink

Party on. I'd love to make this gig. Sounds like fun.

Knobs would be good. I took my GS with street tires up there in March and spent some quality time picking it up in the sand. I'll be bringing my XL600R for Ribfest.

Topdog has designed a shirt for the event:

Being from Florida I like white T-shirts and they have to breath. Topdog has assured me that he uses a printing method that actually dyes the cloth in lieu of placing a decal over it. This will allow the shirt to breath even though it has a detailed pic on it. :thumb

I'd like to make enough $$$ on shirts to buy some kegs :beer

Your thoughts and suggestions are welcome :ear

Yuengling is now brewed in Tampa and I can get it for the price of Bud :evil

I personally like the Black & Tan :yum and Hojo likes the Lager.

With both hooked to a two keg plate system you can satisfy both light and dark beer drinkers :beer

    Sounds like a winner Mon!

Either Yuengling would make me happy. Of course, if you show up with Bud :puke2 there *WILL* be an audit of the t-shirt fund :deal

    In!

And no, I won't be dual sportin' on the sand tracks back in the forest.

I'll be lurkin' 'round the campfire in my blue Power Ranger outfit.

Let's get a really big crowd there!!!!
