Eric, try P&L Upholstery on Stone street. They do a lot of motorbike work and did the install of my Seat Concepts cover on the WR.

Thanks John, I'll go there. Let's meet up for another ride soon. Currently dealing with a sick dog so haven't been able to get away.

I met frank in Baja last week. I knew he prepped adv bikes but I was not sure of his engine repair experience. You have experience with him in this regard? Thx

Frank was a factory BMW tech at one time. He also owns that bike, so he knows the bike as well.

Yep, he gave up on BMW's and switched over to riding KTM's several years ago. He knows ktm's very well.

So what's the story on your bike? Did it hydrolock and not start after the normal drowning recovery procedures? :ear

I agree with taking the bike to Frank. Stand up guy, he's done a lot of service on my bikes and I've always been pleased with the result and the price. I just got my tax return, and he's about to get my bikes in for some more work.

If you need a place to store the 690 I've got garage space and I'm always willing to help out a ADV'r in need.

    1000 pages! I feel honored.

    Nice photos DonBenito!

To answer the question about the photo, I think that's the Willcox Playa? It would make the most sense anyway...

I used to roadrace with Zabriskie. Not in the same class usually but he was quick.

More photos, this time Gunsight Pass:

(Sorry if there is a resize issue again, I don't know of another way to get them to a reasonable size other than html tags without re-uploading them in another size.)

You can just see my little DR350SE in there. A guy rode a KLR650 from west to east up the pass, which is heroic.

Ok, new fork seals are in. Saw an awesome YouTube video on doing your own seals - instead of buying a driver tool unique to your forks, the guy lubed up and started the seal by hand, then wrapped a clean thick layer of electrical tape around the inner fork tube and used that to seat the new seal by sliding the fork like a good ol' fashioned slide hammer. I adapted and put an old seal between the new seal and the tape. Worked like a charm. Ridiculously well. Could even use the tape again in a pinch.

KLR is together, replaced the R/R and the portion of the wiring harness connected to it. No lights. Opened up and cleaned all of the electrical connectors up front, worked like a charm.

For giggles, I put the old r/r back in and it was fine. Spare regrec FTW!

Now my carb needs re jetted(stumbles and bumbles just off idle) but things are well on their way here. Front end is still squishy, we'll see what 10 psi does.

Because everyone should want an 800 lbs., 40 HP, 60 year old technology, vehicle that gets worse gas mileage than a modern car? :huh

I was talking about Ural, not Harley.

    Oh, wait.

Hell, I don't want to own one, I just want to ride one. :lol3
