Great bike by the way!
I have the Holan Pannier racks on my bike.
How do you find getting the centre stand down with the rack mounting on the pillion pegs.
I find it near impossible with my riding boots on to get enough purchase on the centre stand.
If you have fixed the problem please let me know.

kinda use my lower leg to lever against the footpeg in the down position... dunno... seems to work for me? :huh

As many of you know, no one makes crashbars that will fit fit the Touratech Tank (TT.) After doing much research as to what bars are avalible, I asked the dumbest question. "What crashbars offer the least protection?" Givi popped up in my search along with other companies but they all offered high "hoops" that covered the fairing. With the TT tank sticking well beyond the dimensions of where the fairing used to sit these hoop designs would simply A) work but require alot of fabrication or B) simply require too much fabricating that a custom self bent tubing would be easier. After get much laughter asking around for the least protecting bars I bought the Givi bars. When they came in I was truely excited being that they almost fit perfectly with out any modification! Don't get too excited on me now.... they do require some! which I will gladly do for anyone if they do not feel comfortable enough doing alone..... NOW enough BS and lets get to the pictures!!!

First is how the look on a normal none TT-ed F800GS



Now take note of the cross brace connecting the two "halves" so to speak. the bolt, spacer and welded bolt tabs are on the bottom....

by cutting off the cross braces off the bars and switching sides with them.... right goes left and left now goes right... they flip upside down and clear the TT bracket

now they DO fit tight.... no touchy to the tank but close

now many aren't gonna like the closeness off the bars.....

my solution:



the red tape to the top bolt shows a hole, grind off the tab, rotate it on the tubing but to be more vertical down.... all this still pivots on the lower front bolt.... no problem aye? not so easy.... the lower tab then contacts the engine casing.... no good! but can be modified! however by doing all this you once again raise the cross brace vertically and ever so much closer to the TT bracket which is what started this all....

tab weld grinded off and spun off tubing causing it to spin backwards thus creating more room but more problems....

Nice work on those Caribou latches! I contacted Roger a while ago since I was also considering the Pelican cases on a Holan balanced rack, but he said he doesn't make them to fit 18mm round tubing. Looks like you figured it out, now he just has to copy and perfect it for mass production.

Nice........ FYI....... Contour now has the app for the blue tooth hookup to use your smart phone as a controller, and display....In case you have not seen that....
Is that scrape marks on the side of the tank.........How deep are they???? Looks nasty....or just superficial........ If you don`t like the wind noise on the contour..... I hacked mine.....and installed a wired mike that I clip inside the helmet, and are now able to hear other things...... Like @$#%&...and Ohhhh....no.....

Nice job but your capacity on the pannier is pretty limited.

I was wondering if you could give some details on your wheels from Woodys.
Did you go with the 50/50 (street/dirt) version?
Are they the oem size?
Did you get them sealed or "nuetech tubliss"?

problem is you gotta weld the tabs onto the frame... not a big deal but little bit of work involved...

You bet SW-motech's have the top loop i was talked about... but did at one point consider getting something like them and running a cross brace thru the frame and bolt both sides much like the adv-spec stuff

saw that! looks really cool! problem is I dunno if its worth the money for me at lease!

not too deep at all really.... the tank is durable as all get out!

just had the front wheel superlaced with an excel rim smaller size... more narrow... none tubeless and still 21"
