Sad news for you but Robin's Donuts went bust about ten years back, although you may still see an odd one with the signage carrying on under private ownership.
Now there is news that the new corporate owner of the brand is going to be establishing several hundred new restaurants in Ontario , Quebec. and other provinces.

Hotel Recommendation

The Northern Lights Motel (gets best reviews) just north of Wawa about 10 kms is very motorcycle friendly and reasonable motel. Great real breakfast as well. It has been recommended by other ADV members as well. I stayed there in 2010 & will be again this year... I will be in the area the last week of May as well.

They provide you with your own rubber ducky as well ...how cool is that!

You can also visit the world world famous Wawa geese as well (3 total)

it's going to be an early spring from the looks of it. We're getting record high temps and the snow is going fast. I actually had one of the bikes out yesterday.
If the bugs are out just ignore them

The suggestion about Angry Trout & Crooked Spoon in Grand Marais are right on. Add Trail Center Lodge, half way up the Gunflint and you are good to go. I also like My Sisters Place in GM.

Robin's Doughnuts

Robin's closed? No way, hoser. The ten years ago was the sale of the family-based closely-held corporation. The family started it in Thunder Bay.

Here is a nice link. http://robinsdonuts.com/

Next thing you know, you'll say that all the Mac's stores are closed! You must own Tim Hortons stock.

Go Bombers!

Two Other Important Signs To Look For

It is just a different way of doing things. Like loonies and toonies/twoonies. (Another controversy!)

The beer IS better and the Yukon Jack IS weaker than in the States.

late may ride

Howdy, I live in Northern Ontario and have done the North Shore many times. Don"t worry about the black flies, snow, roads or hotel rooms. Weather can change rapidly so be prepared for rain and some cool days, normally though it should be nice. The scenery will be fantastic, lots of great spots to stop with good food and accommodations along the way.
Wawa is a fav spot for over night with a couple good mom and pop type hotels, all a good values for your buck.
You will enjoy the ride so come on up and live life large.
