The ride- from ATL to Four Corners Monument to begin the Colorado Back Country Discovery Route. Once we reach the Wyoming border, turn for home and haul it back to ATL. Total distance- 4,200 miles (700 off-road through Colorado). Another friend flew out and joined us on a rented Tenere for the COBDR section. <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/HbK_Axy0O4E?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/HbK_Axy0O4E?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Thanks for the great videos and bringing us along. I had a few questions if you don't mind. How long did you take to get from the ATL to 4 Corners? Could this be done enjoyably with a week to 10 days? What are your thoughts on the VStrom for that type of trip?
It took three days to get there (600 miles per day). You'll need 3 days out and back and 6 days to do the ride. 12 days would be an aggressive pace. 14 is more doable. The V-Strom did fine with knobbies. I hope this helps...
I just came back from doing the Alpine Loop which was amazing then I get on the PC and find this route...Probably wont make it out till next year
You know that weed is legal in Colorado right? All kidding aside, Phil's tent came loose and got lodged between his wheel and his side bag. It could have been a really bad day for him, but as it turned out, it just stayed wedged without jumping into the wheel. It did however, burn the crap out of his new REI tent
Cool video, my buddy wanted me to take my Vstrom and looks like yourse made it just fine. I noticed the Tiger front fender adventure mod in your video. What happened to it? Seems to be a common theme , check out my ride report and the Zega Pro Tiger front fender mod we had. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=914708&highlight=tiger
Funny- I told my buddy about the fender troubles from your ride report! He also, has the Touratech fender lift and the fender extender. Not sure if that effects it or not, but it is kinda coincidental. Glad we didn't have the same kind of mud. The V-Strom would not have liked that! That 250 would have been a ton of fun!!
