I have yet to find a good way to carry while riding, :ear. I everyday carry a J-frame but OWB (comfy) gets exposed when my shirt rides up, pocket carry is not an option when wearing jeans, so basically I am looking at comfortable motorcycle friendly IWB holsters.

I couldn't think of a better place to put this thread since my CCW is generally required equipment especially when DS'ing and doing off road exploration.

    I figure it like this...

If they see the last 2-3" of my M&P...they are less likely to go full retard road rage :lol3

I've got a Ruger SP101 (2 1/2" barrell) that I carry IWB with a Don Hume model M715. I love it. Super comfy and pretty darn good at concealing basically a full size revolver. Conceals well with a longer tshirt - I sometimes tuck a bit of the cloth back under the snap to keep it from riding up. I wear mine with pants and shorts and it is very secure. It rides at about the 3:30 to 4:00 position.

I've not tried them, but the Crossbreed "Supertuck" looks real nice for actually wearing shirts "tucked in".

I'm still up in the air about where to carry on my person while riding as it makes me nervous considering the effects of landing on the piece if I crash:huh

I had that Don Hume and I sold it, I couldn't get over the single clip that let the holster "walk."

Shoulder holster or a holster mounted behind the number plate. After having a gun fall out of my pocket and losing another out of a hip holster I'm a little more careful.

There is a LONG thread around here somewhere. Probably buried in the basement as some nutty anti comes in preaching paranoia and hate....

    anyhoos....

big +1 on the crossbreed. It will hold anything comfortably.

One option I use on the bike is a wilderness safepacker mounted to the waiststrap of my jacket. Not full-on fagbag...

This is my concern as well. I'm all for the 2nd amendment and CCW but I also believe that you stand a much greater chance of injury by falling on your gun in a crash that you could ever hope to prevent by having a weapon easily at hand while riding a motorcycle. For me the only solution would be some kind of motorcycle mounted location, such as in an easily accessible tank bag pocket, etc.

To those who carry while riding, have you practiced shooting and jam clearing with your riding gloves on? Something to think about. :D

I don't carry a firearm while riding to shoot something while riding. I carry it to protect myself when I get where I'm going.

I use one of those elastic band types - holds one gun - foward or back - front or rear - high or low + one mag. Wear it usually high under my jacket like a cross draw.

I carry in the top of my Jesse bag so it is available when I stop and get off the bike. I'm not going to get in a shootout while riding. Use the bike to get away and avoid a confrontation. Ride or shoot, not both at the same time. Review Clint Smith's lessons on this subject.

I don't think that's the type of carrying the OP was talking about :rofl

Personally, I'm paranoid about landing on my Glock if I prematurely dismount, so I don't carry while riding. Perhaps when I get some lockable luggage, I'll start carrying after I get off the bike.
