I was going to ask you the same thing. Your reading comprehension would appear to be lacking perhaps try another online course this one is obviously not a good match for your skill (or lack of)() set.

I was wondering if the new YZ250F motor with it's straight intake tract to the valves would show superior power, especially high rpm flow/power, potential is there more so in the 250s than their 450 which has enough power to be traction limited. The motor hasn't been available for very long, perhaps additional development time may bear fruit.

I thought Jeff and Tony A. were banned from the races after playing laser tag. My memory isn't great, but I thought Tony was banned for a year and Jeff was banned for life. What is going on?

Time will tell, but I think reversed cylinder heads will eventually go the way of 5-valve heads and TRAC anti-dive brake systems - trumpeted as huge technical advances at introduction, but later found to be neutral at best.

Banned from the MX series, and anything owned or controlled by the Coombs family.

Most of their fights and silly shit are from the MX series over the years.

SX is run by a different company.

You may very well be right. It's been quite a while since any new motor technology has been introduced on the 250s, last was FI. Without any bends, the Yamaha straight intake port allows for the least flow resistance and minimal turbulence, I thought the tuners would raise the rev limit and tune for resonance at higher RPM and have a horsepower advantage.
Intake ports like this have been on F1 cars for quite a while now for good reason.

Yamaha thought enough of it to tool up to build the 2014 250 that way. And while the Honda isn't rear exhaust when you look at the engine it certainly has a rear slanted look to it as it sets in the frame.

When the Rokon had disc brakes everyone thought those were a joke, but the pull starter never caught on...

Honda did some mass centralization but still have a big old bend in the intake tract the charge has to go around - flow resistance and turbulence causation, not optimum

wouldn't it be safe to assume that someone as technically capable as Honda know what they've got with that engine and would have tried different intake layouts before mounting the engine in the frame? maybe a straight intake tract wasn't optimal for the power they wanted? I can't think they'd want MX riders dealing with crazy high RPM's, the 250 riders are basically pinned all the time as it is, and the 450/250 lap times at the pro level of SX would tend to back up the fact that the lower rpm 450's and the higher RPM 250's run pretty similar lap times with the top riders from each class. yes the 450's have the power advantage but I'd think in something like SX that could be a pro and a con.
