I'm sad to report that my 2009 F800GS was stolen from my home in east Atlanta (Grant Park) yesterday. I'm hoping ADVers in the southeast can help keep an eye out for it. I don't have any info on the thieves. None of the neighbors I've asked about it so far saw or noticed anything unusual. It stolen during the day.

At the time it was stolen it did not have the boxes on. Its running a TKC on the front and Heidenua on the back. It had a couple of orange/yellow bungies on the back.

I would appreciate it if ADVers in Atlanta, Georgia, and the southeast could share the link around to their moto friends and PM me if you by chance you have any info. :cry

It was taken from Rosedale Ave which is a block off Boulevard, perpendicular to Ormewood.

Saw a post on here just the other day of someone's friend in the Grant Park who had their Duc stolen.

    I hate thieves.

I'd like to get in touch with that guy if you know who it is. Glanced over the regional forums but didn't see it.

Happy to report my bike was recovered. :clap Granted, it still might be totalled given the amount of damage done. But for the Atlanta audience, the bike was reported by the apartment staff at Forest Cove Apt and towed away. This place is reportedly a den of thieves so if you're bike is stolen in east Atlanta, you might want to drive by Forest Cove and give a look-see. I got a call a couple of days later, I guess because of my police report. Anyway, the bike's at the shop getting an estimate. The ignition was completely destroyed and the wiring harness chopped into along with a bunch of scrapes and bruises on the plastics and crash bars.

Happy for the recovery. I am sure that BMW ignition system foiled them for a quite a while.

Shame the cops could not have waited around to catch someone heading out for a ride on it.

Shame that the cops didn't care, and it appears to have been a tow driver that found the info when probably trying to do a mechanics lien on the bike.
    Good luck with insurance.

I'd thought the same thing fullmonte. I'm sure it won't be the last time a stolen ride finds its way to that place. I got some murky info on the tow. Apparently the Atlanta police were on the scene when the bike was towed but that's all I know. I don't know why they might have been there or whether they found it. I was told by the tow company that the apartment complex called in the tow.
