My tire changes generally involves a lot more sweating and swearing.
I picked up some tricks; that stand he has is cool a third hand to push the opposite bead down and that third curved tire iron. I'll have to give that a try next time I change tires on my 1150.

I'm certainly no expert but there is no need as there are no valves on bib mouses!!

I run a rim lock to stop the tyre moving on the rim. Not ripping a valve stem is just a bonus.

 Main advantage is there is no spinning of the mousse in the tyre when rim lok used so much less heat generated.

If your plan to reuse your mousses then great way to get the most life out of it. If your using a new mousse everyday with a new tyre then maybe not as important, but I think of it as extra insurance.

I've seen guys melting Michelin M02 desert mousses in desert tyres without a rim lok at the Aus Safari. :eek1:eek1

but the bike is finally finished!

Here I am, 1:00 in the morning on the day that I head to Le Havre for strutineering. The last four weeks have truly been the busiest weeks of my life. Long drive tomorrow so I must get some sleep but I know youve all been waiting for this so here it is, my Dakar 2013 450RR and while the florescent lights and crappy camera dont do it justice, you get the idea.

Thanks to everybody thats made this possible, especially my Dad for all his help and everyone thats contributed to the last minute rush, it seemed like we had plenty of time three weeks ago

A full and detailed build report will follow when time permits.

Well if you take a look on the internet you'll find out http://www.vegetarian-shoes.co.uk/ and Robin Webb, the director of the company was the first person to put his hand in his pocket and support my Dakar campaign. In fact, he made his offering even before I had decided to do the Dakar.

Robin is a great guy, a true adventure motorcyclist and as a result I will proudly wear vegetarian shoes in the bivouac I cannot thank Robin enough for his help. Top guy.

Beautiful bike design Lyndon, - congratulations ! First big difference i noticed is the bigger Akrapovic exhaust than the original. Shure you well tell us with a lot of nice pictures as soon as possible your other special 007 items on the bike
