Man looks like you picked a great route going out. looking forward to the return posts and campfire stories in October.

So does this mean you won't be offering seminars on" Tire Changing Safety", "Preventive Maintenance: Knowing Your PSI", and "Roadside Tire Changes"?!?!?!

Question for you Vicksburg peeps lurkin in here.

Anybody know anything about the kuhn Memorial Hospital? Anybody happen to know the owner? General Safety of the area (should I go in a group, should I pack heat?) I'm looking to do a little urbex photoggin there, and thought I'd check with the few folks I know from that area.

If your going on the bike I'll tag along if I got nothing going on.

No help here. I've been by there years ago. I would go there alone, but might feel better carrying heat or as a minimum Switch for bait. This guy did a photo shoot years ago and I look through his blog for interesting things in MS: http://www.martykittrell.com/

He used to work at the Vicksburg Post and might know who to contact or if it's safe to trespass. I can scout it out for you if you would like.

I don't have a time frame yet, just putting out some feelers. Apparently the place has changed hands a couple of times in the last few years. If I go on the bike it, will be this fall lol! And taking switch as bait..... I'm pretty sure he can run faster than me!!

When you guys figure out all the logistics let me know. My band was wanting find a really cool place to get some photos taken for our website. So if it costs money, we need to know how much.

I have thought about riding by there for years, but would never go alone and would def be packing. I heard a rumor of who the owner is awhile back but have not verified it so I don't want to speak out of turn...

I'm not real sure which hospital you are referring to. I grew up in Vicksburg and the only hospitals I'm aware of as still standing is the old Mercy Hospital (which the chemical dependency unit and street clinic is still there...at least adjacent) and the Vicksburg Hospital out on the Interstate. The new functioning hospital is River Region on Highway 61 north.

Are you referring to the Mercy Hospital. Its vacant, with a fence around it, but the area around it is not too bad. My step mom and sister live in the area and although I wouldn't go in it at night, its probably ok to go to during the day.
