Three inmates will be leaving York, PA May 26 on a four week trip to Alaska. This will be primarily a picture thread. A more involved write up may be done after we return. I'm ready for tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm ready too, but can't get all my stuff on my bike. Do you have any extra room? Looks like some open space between the tank bag and dry sacks.See you tomorrow.
Pssst... The Alaska thread isn't where your ride report goes. Your ride report goes in the ride reports section.
It looks like you got enough stuff for a squad. Who wrote the TA? Do you really need all that? Canada and Alaska are civilized. Gas is available, lighter is safer, especially on bad roads. Enjoy the Ride
^This. You can likely ditch the gas cans. That concours and vstrom should have no issues traveling up and through here. Are you planning to run the Haul Road or the Dempster? If so I'll let the "veterans" chime in. I just came back from a Haines-Skagway-Whitehorse trip and there are quite a bit of frost heaves and can make it bumpy so be aware. Other then that you guys have a safe run and looking forward to some pics.
Wow. The easterners can really pack some stuff on their bikes. Hope to see ya up there. With that huge ice chest on back l am gonna follow you guys, and you are welcome to camp at my place in Boulder, CO along the way if ya want. We will probably be just a few days behind you.
I see alot of crap being dumped or sent home along the way. I see it every year and guys send stuff home from my shop all the time. you will figure it out by the time you guys get here or sooner.
Have great ride sounds like it will be a good long one. My wife is from Glen Rock. Been down that way few times and was able to ride ride my father in-laws H/D. Man those roads down there are great fun. I would like to know if there is any off roading, two track or single track in that area. When you get up to Ancorage shoot me an message and I'll see if we can get a ride in.
