Blaine, Jenna, you guys go look at the teaser I just posted over in Banjo's stoopid Blog. (I had posted those pics here years ago and another inmate on here had been through the same storm.)
Mark's still got that facial hair....... On a lighter note, I'm too high and drunk to ride my bike and my wife won't let me. probably best since I'm broke.
So, what's the story from the front lines? Pics/video which are circulating remind me of scenes from The Walking Dead!
Well it was fun for me (4wd) but to the rest of atlanta, it was a nightmare. Zero salt trucks were deployed before or even day of the snow. Schools were not let out etc etc. Being that we don't really have salt trucks, chain are illegal and the roads just completely ice over here and everyone panicked and all tried to get home at the same time..some people were literally stranded in their cars for 24hrs because of how bad traffic was on the interstates. I had fun zooming around rear wheel drive folks up hills as they needlessly floored the gas hoping that the faster their wheels spin, the more traction they'd get. All in all, great success. Kyle and I were out doing this with my Land Cruiser <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/_XLs7wY4I88" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
WELL DONE. I took out my Jeep and had a lot of fun 'drifting the corners'. Huge. There was a kid in my neighborhood with a YZ80 tearing it up. It was hilarious.
That's not too bad compared to the horror stories I've heard. Christan got rearended and finally made it home in 3.5 hours. Really did a number to her back and neck and chiro is closed. Lots of friends slept in Krogers and home depots....I'm going to attempt to go in today. I'd like to point out I grew up in Michigan and lived in Boston till I moved here in '95. I'm pretty well versed in driving in the snow and ice even....but I didn't start my car once yesterday. not worth it. Can't imagine getting a ticket for tire chains....I'd kick that cop in the nuts if he tried.
Just saw that on the news. Those big ass hvac zip ties work really well. twist them up before you attach and you're good to go.....I use to put them on my tw200 when playing in the ice.
Someone's already took that idea and making money off it of course! Remembered seeing this somewhere when you mentioned the above. <IFRAME height=315 src="//www.youtube.com/embed/L9dBNaCGr4M" frameBorder=0 width=560 allowfullscreen></IFRAME> I came a foot from being rear ended myself - was waiting at light on North Ave at the overpass right before GA Tech - saw in my mirror some idiot coming way to fast after the light changed at Spring street - overpass was of-course icy and he started skidding as soon as he tapped his brakes - he ended up missing me by inches and up on the sidewalk next to me on my right! The world is full of idiots - Atlanta seems to often have more than it's share!
Sounds familiar... don't you love looking over at the eyes of the yahoo next to you when he stops!! I drive on snow and ice a lot .... always scares me to see the 4-wheel-drive frenzy.... YES, it helps you GO, but it doesn't do much to help you STOP. People forget about the big Mo when that much mass starts rollin'..........
My girlfriend lives in the ice house lofts right at the dead end of that street. She said the restaurant is good but very pricey. Fred knows the dude on the toaster. An older, fun dude, I'm told. His bike is there a couple nights a week when I drive by.
