I used to hate snow, but then came to the realization it's all a state of mind ... took these pictures on a ride last November from MN to MA through LOTS of snow. Awesome.

Yeah; there's a novelty to it... but trying to get up a single track at 10,000 feet in waste deep snow is a different story :patch

Its too freakin' early to start looking forward to this year's Elephant ride!

I see green under those covers. Don't you know the red ones are the best? :D I'm out in littleton and ride VP/RE/Snowies almost every weekend when there's snow, got about 1200mi in last year.

I was thinking the Eibach shock spring for the FJR must have finally arrived and caused the weather....but no such luck.
Mike's got the rest of the work done and is waiting for a single, but important, part.

    Since before Labor Day :bluduh

    I feel your pain.

My RSV Mille had a weepy water pump oil seal, and I brought it to the shop on Aug 1. It wasn't a bad weep, but it was a warranty repair...

Two weeks later, no parts. :dunno

"Italy takes August off for holiday" :bluduh

Part arrived in early September, was damaged during install by the shop, and I waited four more weeks for the slow gondola to cross the pond with another one. I was rather hoping a Rotax engine part might come from Austria.

I got the bike back on the road almost three months after taking it in.

Still snowing like a mofo here above WP. Pikes Peak calling for up to 3' tonight.

Wouldn't you know it. Last weekend I get maps and start planning my assault on the trails from here to hell and back and this comes along. Won't stop me but will change my clothing choice a bit.:D

Does anyone else feel like a complete idiot for not seizing every single opportunity to ride this summer?
I put something like 10K on the 610... but it sure didn't feel like it.

I think I only rode like 1/3rd of my "to do" list

    :becca

What I wouldn't give for 8 more weeks of summer...

I was on my way to riding all of my to-do list... but then I had to go and play the dangerous game of softball.

I got the XR out when I could, it was a fairly busy year at work and I don't have the freedom some of you have to go during the week.
I managed to pile more than 27,000 on the FJR in the last 13 months though, there were some good, long road trips there.

Let's haul the bikes to Death Valley and Big Bend Nat'l Park this winter....it's a great equalizer :nod

Ahh, wonderful Wyoming. There might be a reason why it is the least populated state. A great place for we Greens to play, however.:D

    IN!!!

Just give me a month's heads up to put the bike back together as I have a habit of taking it apart when the snow flies :D

I've ridden sportbikes in Big Bend but never dirt... sounds like a hoot. :ricky

Snowed all day up at 8000' in Golden Gate Canyon. Maybe 2 inches accumulated in the deeper spots and on the trees. Will be gone with the first sunshine though.
