Great thread, it's about time. Don't forget to take your waterproof camera on your ride this weekend so we can see proof you're HARDCORE!

We've got the DOGs, the WARDs, and now the HARDCOREs. Hope we don't have any turf wars.

So when's the 1st "official" ride?

My bike is up and running again! but I'll be keeping a "rescue" vehicle nearby 1st time out.

Does anyone know if the parking area across from the new Wilson Creek visitors center stays open all year?

How hard is it to get in to this gang? I'm really hardcore and never wreck.

The lady at the Welcome Center said they didn't close it, just the lot next to the building. Plus there's a house on the other side of the creek and the lot leads to their bridge.

kinda like 250's there valve crusher. I'd be hardcore on it too . Like my Isuzu npr truck put brick on throttle and go.

I don't know anything about official, but I hope to get out the 31st or 1st. We went out on the bicycles today and just beat the rain, sort of.

Here's what I'm thinking...

If the weather clears up nicely like it forecast to do...

12 noon at the Wilson Creek visitors Center

(I'll park the truck there as this will be it's 1st big ride since I rewound the ignition portion of the stator)

Come on out and ride.....I just may need to be rescued.....again.

At some point in the warm months of 2008

there WILL be a weekend campout, location/date specifically TBD by the HARDCORE inmates...
The general location/time will be :

BrownMtnOHV / camping area
Summer '08

The time agenda will be determined by the temperatures even in the summer, them parts could just be a might cold at night.

The ideal in mind is for everyone to have a super enjoyable time, with lotsa conversation and camaraderie :jose

plus rides on a Friday...starting in the afternoons..
rides Sat morning and Sat evening..
maybe a short Sunday ride..

Why Brown Mtn OHV?

Campsites are totally free..It's four tent sites to a camp site..about 6 or 8 campsites in neighboring parts of the main road, entering the OHV
Each campsite has two fire pits..

gravel laid down on them..fire pits/camp grill...
nearby facilities.. Men/Women

It's close to the Wilson Creek area, Linville Gorge..the AhO area near richlands, the Globe...etc

did i mention the actual campsite is free? zilch zip nada..

And the BrownMtnOHV is less than 3 miles from many of the local riding attractions entryways..then there is the park itself...although it's pretty difficult on a dualsport in spots.

so for Sat and Sun rides...start up the engines and go..without having to wait until you get there.

This is just a start for the HARDCORE inmates...

If you see this old truck there (visitor center parking lot) but I'm not...(in case I'm early)(yeah right) I'll be taking a test run up to Betsey's Store....so come on up and meet me there....or wait till I get back....or meet me on the road and everybody practice their u-turns.......or the most likley scenario (no truck)...Wait for me!! I'll be there soon....I hope!
