After mistakenly posting this in the thumper section and being made fun of (rightly so) I have retrieved my post and placed it here.

Anybody ever wished for a way to route the exhaust under the seat and out the back like some of the sportbikes that you see?
My purpose for doing this would be to slim the back of the bike down so boxes/bags could be installed without making the dang thing so wide.
Whataya think? Does this even make enough sense to be stupid?

Sounds good to me. Only problem I could see would be rear tire rub when offroading.

I would like to see something like that. The Vee would actually look somewhat modern.

Study the exhaust of a 2002-2006 Aprilia ETV1000 Caponord with the OEM (painted to match or black plastic) sidebags. Really. The bags are tucked in tight and the exhaust does NOT heat them. :evil

So, a "bike specific" exhaust is not a requirement?
Something I've suspected for a while.
You just pipe those headers into a can and the efi takes care of the fuel mix?
Any remapping required? Power Commander or eq.?
Any general guidelines a guy might keep in mind?

Your slim bike looks very nice. More bikelike than with all the halloween crap.

I will also look for the Aprila setup.

I don't think its quite that simple - header length is "tuned", and silencer volume does make a difference. So it might cost you a few HP - how bad do you want it? :D
