Okay, the owner's comic book calls for regular.
Most regular fuel up here in the GWN has at least 10% ethanol.
My dealers says avoid regular fuel. He means containing ethanol.
I use regular with NO ethanol.
What do you Yanks do? Doesn't almost all of your fuel contain ethanol?

Yep Most of out fuel contains ethanol.

The F650 and all other F800 are designed to work well with ethanol. all the parts...the ignition timing etc

Having said that, unless it is winter and you have a water in tank condensation problem (ethanol absorbs water good some times bad others)...you are better off with straight gas. You will get slightly better gas milage...more energy in a Oz of gas vs an Oz of ethanol.

Ethanol is an octane booster..ie anti knock..which helps in a high compression engine like the 800s....so to get regular straigth gas to get to the right octane they have to use other additives...also a mixed bag.

bottom line don't worry....biggest change is long term storage life of the 10% ethanol fuel ...over winter seems ok here but some have had problems
