So my bike is in San Diego now and I'm headed out there next weekend for the Elsinore Motocross race. Looking for good routes, hopefully dirt, thru the mountains from the Vista area to Elsinore. Any ideas? I'm trolling thru google earth sat view now but any local advice appreciated. -Rob
Thats gonna be a hard one. Too much development, private land, and Camp Pendelton Marine Corp. Base. You can ride some trails from Vista to the I-15 that will put you near Lawrenece Welk resort - but you more than likely going to just have to hit the pavement. There is also some riding above Elsinore in the Cleveland National Forest- but it is really more accessible from the Orange County side of the Mtns. and would require riding up I-5. I will be at Elsinore this weekend as well
