Fun or Trouble, I'm not sure which. I'm reading that these are pre-jetted and ready to go, however I know there may very well be some adjustments to do to get it just right. My users manual is not very informative on "your air screw is here, and your blah-blah is there............etc. There are a few more jets/screws/and adjustments for this carb than all others I've seen. :huh I just hope it's real close on the jetting, and maybe just a minor adjustment on fuel mixture or something is all I end up having to do....... I hope Further post will follow I'm sure. Boojum
I find the opposite where I am. I get waves back from the sport-bikes, but hardly any of the cruisers.
I used to wave...not so much anymore. But if someone else waves I'll wave back. Some of the cruisers I'd pass and wave at would give me the "I'm too much of a bad ass to wave at you" look. Funny when the last guy in a line of them, or their pillion rider would sheepishly give me a wave...almost like they were thinking, "I hope the rest of the group doesn't see me doing this". Nice video Red!
If someone does the old "cool point at ground" wave at me I make it a point to stick my arm way up in the air and wave franticly! Ditto, I can fine something exciting and good in most any motorcycle. Old Chief:
Happy belated Birthday to me!! Just sitting on the bike now I realize how hammered my side covers are. Can't wait to get some seat time. If the wife only knew how much money I spend on the bike she'd be pissed!!!
Just wanted to say thanks to Fritz for following me home tonight after our gathering. I had no idea my tail light was Spazzing out. I'm gonna have to take it apart and see what's causing it. Oh Joy and Rapture! Here I go again with the tail light.......
Same here. I've actually had HD guys shake their heads at me when I waved. But I don't wave much these days. I will return a wave but never wave first. Too many bikes on the road. The old wave started since there were a lot less riders on the road, so those that rode saluted each other for riding. That is kind of pointless now that so many people ride.
You are welcome dude. It was a win win decision for me. I wanted to make sure my buddy made it home ok but if he didn't I want to be there to pillage parts from the wreck. I think I have a new one of those tail lights. Collin gave it to me. I'll look tonight, if I have it it's yours.
I'd wave at you. Maybe... Question for the asylum. Is the stock front headlight a duel filament? Is there a good and easy to install aftermarket LED replacement? I just got my brothers XRL back and am doing a couple of small things and next up is to fix the front headlight. It works but no high beam.
The XRL headlight is a dual filiment bulb. Should be 55/60 watt. Good, easy LED headlight? Don't know. Just install a Sylvania Silver Star bulb and you'll be good to go.
It's unusual for the wiring to fail for the high beam of the headlight. Have you tried several, H4, replacement light bulbs? Spud
I knew it! I knew you had an ulterior motive. My tail light is relatively new as it is. It gave me fits when I put it on though. I'm gonna try a different bulb when I get home tonight and see(pun intended) what happens . I really want to get back up to Angelina. We need to start putting something together like Buddy was talking about last night.
Since they don't seem to be available from the forum here, I found another source. Beautiful thingies. http://www.xr-forum.de/index.php/topic,22917.0.html
The headlight plug no my 96 melted. The spade connections for the low beam were burned. I replaced the spade connections with 90 deg. spades that I soldered on.
