NW Virginia Tag-to-Eat Tag-o-Rama

This is a new tag-o-rama to help lift our sagging economy! Rules are the same as all other tag games, you have to ride to play. The boundaries are the same as the Northwestern VA Tag-o-rama for now, but loosly enforced.

In this game however, when you make the GRAB, you MUST make a purchase as well. Either food or drink or both. If you are pressed for time, grab a drink and split, but you might be missing whatever the tagger was trying to introduce you to! Tags can only be left at places of business that sell food and or drink. Once you grab our mascot, "Butch Rocco" (the crossdressing rubberized lesbian waterfowl) you should get a pic of he/she with your meal and post it. (EDIT......Butch is long gone....our newest mascot is a plastic Rhino. 11/1/13)

The focus here should be on placing tags at your favorite mom & pop style places. They can be restaurants, bars, road side stores, deli's........whatever. ....Fast food and franchise restaurants are not encouraged. Lets support our local merchants & restaurant owners before we are forced to eat at Wal-Mart!!!!

********clarification*************** you do NOT have to purchase or eat when you PLACE the tag. Only when you make a GRAB.

Oh ya.........and one other thing..........get a pic of the store hours for obvious reasons.

I placed the first tag today. But you have to wait until tomorrow to make the first grab. You can get pizza by the slice here!

UPDATE 1-8-13 I am sad to say our first tag location........Mama Angelina's is OUT OF BUSINESS. Not because we didn't support it, just due to internal problems (from what I heard). Don't waste your time stopping there.

The NY style pizza is pretty good. Not quite like I'm used to in Upstate NY but as close as your gonna get in VA.

Bob, since your ideas were instrumental in starting this feel free to chime in with ideas making it work better. I'm just here to ride!

Look in the back of the wagon and you will see this piece of flagstone. Butch is under the stone. You can see a part of him in the pic. I moved him further to the left...

They have a counter in the back that has different home cooking type meals, wings, country steaks, green beans, mashed potatoes, sloppy joes, etc. Nothing fancy. Seating on the inside of outside under a pavilion overlooking Belle Grove.

Hours of operation(which I forgot to get a picture of) are as follows
M-F. 5:30-8:00
Sat. 6:00-8:00
Sun. 7:00-8:00

We got there right at 3.

I asked the waiter if he saw any rowdy bikers rummaging through the bushes earlier in the day.

I think next time I go for one I'll post here in the AM and see who wants to meet up and have lunch, diner, etc...Glad to see you posting and tagging!

Yes it was pretty good! I should have got a couple toppings on them though.

For future reference I'll have to remember to get pics of the options for food at non restaurant type establishments such as the place I put the tag. They have OK food for a market like that. It wasn't my first option but I ran into Old Eli(an inmate) up in Winchester and talked about two hours with him. I was running(had run) out of time and I couldn't make it to where I wanted to take it.

Yes, the pizza was good. There is a pizza place down my way that I'll get you guys to try if I can get my hands on Butch.

looking forward to it............I know where butch is, but I am gonna let him sit a bit and let some others join in.

The Grab has been made. I was hungry. In the covered wagon as described.

Had chicken, mashed taters w gravy and green beans for 2. Topped off 2 bikes with gas AND had 2 drinks. Total spent, 25 bux.

According to the girl behind the counter, gas is going up to 4.09 in one hour. She also said Friday is 1/2 pound burger day! I will b back for that.

looks like the sun interfered with the picture I took of the sign. Hadn't noticed til now......... I will name the place if need be...........BUT its named after a person who is said to explore wild cave systems.

One you find the tag location, look for this water feature and search the rocks near the saw grass.
