Has anyone replaced their Plastic buttons, such as Info, Heated Grips,Kill switch? I bought a bike and the paint is faded away.

Don't know if you can get it where you live but EMU oil revives the color of faded plastic switched amazingly and doesn't leave a sticky residue. It's cheaper than new switches !

I am more concerned about restoring the painted symbols then the color of the buttons. Does anyone have any info at all?

You can't buy switch cluster components separately.
If you want more pristine looking buttons you need to buy a new complete cluster.

Frankly, I don't see the point of fussing that much over how a GS looks...

Thanks yeah I kinda of thought so. It normally would not bother me but this bike is basically new, with only 300 miles I kinda wanted a new looking bike to begin with.

I'm thinking that all of you who don't care what your GS looks like have an epiphany when getting it ready to sell.

No I care especially like I said the bike is new, just left out in the sun I guess. I would like to replace them but not if it cost a lot I thought there might have been a way to change out just the buttons.

Best bet is to find used switchgear like at beemer boneyard

    http://www.beemerboneyard.com/haswgrmi.htm

Might want to try ebay or ibmwr as well.

There are stickers sold on Amazon, AliExpress, etc. for the newer 1200 series bikes, but if you're looking for something similar to refinish 11x0 switchgear I've not seen anything like that in the market place. If you find something, please do post up.

Just bought an old r1150gs with sun faded switch gear. I was happy to order a set for the bike. Too bad for me that postage to Australia is not possible "for non digital items." Bugger.

Bugger..............just tried to do the same thinking if I could get them to NZ I have a colleague going to our Brisbane office in a couple of weeks and he could have bought them over.

But I got the same message regarding non-shipment of non-digital goods.

Ebay source and worldwide albeit expensive shipping: BMW R1200GS/F650/F800/F700GS/K1200R control switch replacement decals | eBay

If you contact seller, they may accommodate non-express economy shipping which should be more affordable...

Once I figure out what buttons do what I never look at them again. It's all by feel. I don't you'll be looking at the symbols while riding and using them...

Thanks for the link. 19 pounds for the stickers and 20 for postage unfortunately. Essentially a letter sized envelope required so I don't want to contribute that much cabbage to a postal service's coffers. Appreciate the effort from you lewisjr1.
