I'm starting to plan a trip for next year, so I'm eager to read any reports that are still coming in for this year.

    Best of luck!

    Just a quick update.
I pulled into a hotel in Vinita at about 7:30 last night. The trails in Oklahoma aren't nearly as badly affected by the storm so I didn't have any fallen trees or flooding to contend with.

All my gear stayed wet inside and out from the night in my not so waterproof tent and this combined with the wind chill seemed to drop my body temp by quite a bit over the day as I arrived at the hotel in quite a bad state and didn't really make a lot of sense when trying to speak to the receptionist.
I got into the room, turned the heating up and had a hot shower to bring my body temperature up to normal. I felt a lot better after an hour.
Let's just say that the hotel room hair dryer has got more than its fair share of use over the night.

I bought the Klim, badlands pro jacket and pants, I am very happy with the jacket but the pants aren't waterproof at all and my legs have been getting soaked over the last 2 days. I checked them multiple times to make sure that all the vents were closed and there were no gaps for water to get through but it seems that the water is soaking through the fabric. I have looked at lots of reviews and I think that I must have a faulty pair as no one else seems to have come across this problem.
I will contact klim and see what options they can offer for replacing them.

    Contact Revzilla. May be easier.

How's the GPS working for you? Are the tracks working like you wanted?

The gps has been fantastic so far, it never loses signal and shows the track clearly, I haven't taken one incorrect turn since getting it.
Thanks for setting it up on your laptop.

I have contacted revzilla and klim about the pants to see who will give the best option to get them replaced.

This is like one of those silly math problems...if you had a spare gallon and 1.5 gallons in your main tank and rode 25 miles to fill your 3.7 gallon tank, assuming your bike gets 50 mpg, how much fuel would you have when you returned? 4.2 total is always better than the 2.5 you started with in my book. :webers

Let us know how Klim treats you. I had a bad pair of Klim pants and got very little help from Klim. Luckily, Motorcycle Superstore refunded the money to me.

I bought a 2014 690R this summer so am very interested in your experience on the TAT with the bike. From the early pictures, it looks like you have a Great Basin bag on a stock bike. Any modifications or upgrades to the bike yet?

I'm in! You've got bigger balls than a Bramha bull! Hope you miss the snow in the Rockies.

You should be able to try a lot of microbrews on your trip. Have fun, ride safe. :freaky

I rode through central and western Oklahoma today, the weather had been quite good with a little rain in the morning but it dried up by afternoon, I had to go through a lot of floods.
This one went on for about a mile and got about 2ft deep at its deepest.

It reached the front reflector but was not deep enough to worry about the engine sucking in water.

This one was a bit deeper. I had a local watching me, he must have thought that I am mad.

The water got a fair bit deeper after this pic so I had to switch the engine off and push, I didn't take any pics as I couldn't get the bike on its stand as a load of mud had settled at the bottom.
For measurement, I have a 34" inseam and the water reached up to my waist.
After I got out I checked the airbox but to my surprise it was still dry.

This crossing was not big in the slightest but I thought very scenic so I took a pic anyway.
