Last weekend I met up with friends in Torrey Ut for a few days of kicking tires, riding, and for me, picture taking. Here are some shots I took....

Just outside of Cedar City, heading up UT 14. It was good to get out of the heat!

At Cedar Breaks Park on UT 148 near Brian Head:

Here is the same place, but a slightly different angle and light....

At Cedar Breaks, I got off the bike to take some pix...

In Mexico, you have to watch out for Topes. On 143, it's these critters!

It was pretty cold up on Cedar Breaks...the high 40's. Fall is here. We descended down to US 89, and headed east on UT 12. Here is a shot from the visitor parking at Red Rock Canyon.

Shot from the side of the road at the same location. I threw a polarizing filter on my 10-22 mm lens for this one.

UT 12 is an amazing road. This is in the Escalante area looking northeast, I believe.

I never get tired of the scenery in this portion of the west, and Fall is the perfect time to come here. The sun is low, the colors are rich, and the tourists are comparatively scarce!

    Rain!

I took a day off riding to walk around Torrey and take some images. I walked up this trail, but it started raining pretty hard, and I wasn't dressed for the occasion. Next year I plan on walking back into this canyon...too sandy, IMHO for the GSA.

I took shelter under the stairwell of this structure.

In Torrey, even the irrigation ditches can be worthy photo ops!

Here is Bikeopotamus posing near the summit on UT12. It snowed here the day before.

Here is my obligatory food shot. If you want a great burger, I suggest "Slackers" in Torrey:

And, that wrapped up Torrey. 625 scorching miles home across the Nevada deserts and I was home!

    Cheers,
    Steve

Right on, Steve! Those are some good motorcycle roads. Lots of sheep around Cedar Breaks this summer.

    Keep posting! Thanks. :D

Ok, here are a few more....this one is up by "Duck Village," I believe its called:

Nearly the same shot, a little different light.

    Magnificent vistas, looking north.

    Up on Utah 12.

Too much good stuff to shoot in the fall! I envy those who live closer to this magical place.

Thanks for the words. Utah, SW Colorado, and the PNW in my opinion, stand among some ot the best places to take pictures!

If Utah, was, um, a bit more tolerant, I could live here spending my days shooting here!

    Cheers,

Thanks, I'd sure like to get back up there this fall, but I think fall is passing pretty rapidly! Timing is everything with the fall colors, isn't it?

    Hey Mike,

Thanks for the words. Good talking to you. I'm looking forward to trying out some of the roads we talked about at the Off Road Show.

I will check out your pix this afternoon.

    cheers,
    Steve

We were there with the wife's cage a couple weeks ago. Great after the tourist crowds are gone. Took in a great play in Cedar City. The Shakespeare festival is year around (I guess), and they have some fabullous plays. Just buy your :freaky booze before Sunday, and early in the eve, or your goin' dry. But thats ok, drink in the scenery instead.

Thanks for the kind words...I'll post up some more soon, but truth be told, I needed about three more days to take all the pix I wanted to...Plus it would have been nice to have a four wheel vehicle. I saw some stunning sights, but could not find a safe parking place for the Big Pig within a reasonable walk!:huh

Let me know what you think of the "Slackers" chocolate malt. Also, the Boulder View Inn is a great place to stay. Very clean, family owned and great rates. In two weeks, most of Torrey will be shut down, but if you call the Boulder View, she'll rent you a room even if the place is "closed."

    Have fun,
    Steve

Wow, she is amazing! Puts my rank amatuer stuff to shame...:rofl

I stayed in Torrey Utah, and rode that entire area for a long weekend of mid September. I was there around the 12th of the Month, and leaves were amazing around Cedar Breaks and then on highway out of Escalante, over the pass to Torrey.. Also out side of Cedar City....

Have fun and dress for cold nights. Got some snow one night-it melted first thing in the morning, but still chilly!
