I realize this is really long term for those who are led astray by a chicken but who is doing the TCAT in 2 summers starting in the east and going west?
I have been partially planning it for the last year or so. My mind is semi set on 2 summers from now, so I'm a possibility lol
Sounds good, keep me in mind as it gets closer I'll be posting on here trying to organize something! Cheers Slowphil
I was hoping to go across Canada the summer of 2016, using the TCAT of course. Need to get my skills sharpened and practice with some shorter length trips around here first.
Will do, gotta get the KTM geared up for it, already got the cases, now some more electicals etc. Depending on how everything in life is going il be using the TCAT for the starting of a year or 2 riding
Hey good for you, I went down to Ushuaia 2 winters ago and loved every minute of the trip, still miss being on the road though even with all the riding I do!
I started a few years ago with a translate blast from St. John's NL through the Translab and back in 10 days on my KLR solo, then the next summer i spent a month trampsing around on the KLR again through the Translab with a friend. Last summer i went from Ottawa to NL on a 2012 KTM 690 only to get it home and sell it again for a Brand spanking 2014 KTM 690. So I'm thinking i wanna get back on the ride again
I'll be going East to West... Summer 2016 is a possibility! I am going to have a tough time taking extended absence from work though...
I'm planning doing the TAT to go Ouest and then take the TCAT back on the Est coast. If your looking for a little longer plan MP me and we can look foward for it RoFon
I'm planning to do the BC section this July, I might see you out there! I'll be the idiot on a DR-Z400.
I am now thinking of adjusting my schedule to hit up this while TCAT-ing. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/events/humm-rockies-2016 Looks like a doable thing if I start on the 1st of July in the East.
That might work perfect. Im thinking of blitzing it to St. John's, Newfoundland, on the 1-2 of July. and then picking up track there.
For those riding the TCAT with Slowphil - please be advised that he does fall over AND has a penchant for stalling in water crossings. We (his Nova Scotia Riding Buddies) would suggest a long tow rope and some outriggers. The KLR kicked the tires out from under the KTM. Be prepared for scenes like this. And under no circumstances should anyone ever let him drink Jameson's. Psssstt..... Love ya, Phil!
