Yea I saw that too, I don't need mine until September so no problem for me. If someone needs them sooner not such a good deal though.

These are good for fuel storage. They will not work on stoves other than Primus ones though. The thread pattern is different. I made the mistake of ordering one to use with my stove and as spare fuel and boogered up the threads on my stove.

I've used bottles like this as leakproof whiskey carriers. I always assumed it was safe to do, but does anyone know for sure? It says "lacquered inside".

It's a fuel bottle so I wouldn't use mine to carry water or anything that I would drink later... and my Primus 1 L bottle has this distinct, unpleasant smell that hasn't gone away after a year.

You can get bottles (alumunium or stainless) that are specifically designed to carry water like Sigg, why not get them?

I just checked the site, back up to $21. Saw the $12 earlier, thought too much...

Yup, it was down to 12 bucks earlier in the day. I snagged one even though I have no use for it. :rayof

I have two of these with the Happy Trails bottle holders. Am planning on mounting them to my panniers for spare fuel and wondering if anyone on here has done it. Trying to decide between mounting on the rear of the pannier or the front. Anyone with experience either way before I start drilling holes???

    Sparky,

I'm using the Primus aluminum bottle (black) that is specifically made for drinking water. Transmits virtually no taste to water, so should be fine with whiskey. :1drink

Now to the more important question:

If I use it for my 18-year old Scotch Whiskey, could my bike burn the whiskey as fuel in a pinch?:lol3

Got mine delivered Friday. Fantastic deal but now I have to figure out how to carry the 1.5L on the XRR.
